hi iv tried a few things now and im looking for some ideas, i havnt yet in a week of owning rust managed to get to the main menu. i launch rust , change the diamentions to the minimums click play then about 5 seconds later i get an error report they all say the same thing iv got hundreds of them now iv tried everything i can think of, i have also tried completly reinstall rust and steam, i turn off my anti virus, if tried opening the game from different files and same thing happens, below is a crash report, they all look the same and all state access violation!!!! help im dieing to play Unity Player [version: Unity 5.3.1p3_a581c9fffe9f] steam_api.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module steam_api.dll at 001b:5d535670. Your computer does not meet the minimum system specs for Rust, sorry. 3GB was never enough for the game. 4GB was the minimum and the minimum listed on the store is now 8GB.
P320 is definitely 64bit capable, 32 bit OS is kind of an odd choice, but at the same time anything that needs 4gb+ probably won't be running so well nowadays...
pooart, don't go and buy 8gb ram now because a 32bit system can only handle 4gb.
Don't try for 4GB either, there's a good chance it might only run at 3.5 with that OS. You could reinstall with a 64bit OS, the machine does have lots of life left+will run better with 4+, but don't expect miracles.
So just to double check, I can't start the game / get to the main menu cus of spec, what I mean is I haven't yet fully opened the game. And tbh my laptop is about 5 years old it's an acer aspire 55510 I think. Ok well I'm not great with computers so was look at buying a second hand game pc or something, I'm dieing to play.
ah, laptop. no gpu upgrade. that's no so good news! You can get a very decent gaming machine for not too much money. If you have a budget it shouldn't be too hard to find something quite a lot better within that range.
