Game would be cool without military grade equipment. - Rust

Wouldnt it?Imagine,bows,handcannons,pipe shotguns fights instead of m4 with holo and silencer :x Addition of javelins/throwing rocks and some meele weapon made especially for fighting (like sword from sharpened piece of metal sheet/rarely found machetes) would even spice things up! I certainly agree with that and from what I've heard it's intended for the game to go in that sort of direction eventually. The modern weapons (along with the zombies) are supposedly just placeholders for entirely different ideas later in development. We'll see if that means no modern weapons at all or just them becoming more and more rare as time goes on. I could live with either myself as long as modern weapons at least become ridiculously difficult to make, if not impossible and must be found.

This is stupid, the fun will be gone without the armor and modern guns, it will be cavemen if they changed it according to you.

It's honestly rather dull to be fighting with the same weapons you can find in any shooter these days even though you're playing a survival game.

Sometimes I feel like I'm playing Battle Field and that's a really bad thing.

Dont you guys realise that the crafting system is currently barebones? Or do you think they're expecting people to build a tin house on Day 2 and say "yep, I'm a warlord now, look how beautiful my rusty tin house is, I've won Rust." Same goes for weapons, it's barebones. Give it time.

Devs said they are not removing military weapons, just making them harder to craft so they are more rare. They are a part of the game, just because you keep getting killed by them doesn't mean they should be removed.

Eventually I hope the weapons turn into a more Mad Max/Waterworld style. You can still have "military grade weapons" - but they're modded, old and have a self-kept feel.

People do plenty of killing with pipe shotguns and I imagine they'd do plenty of killing with any other handmade weapons that might be conceived to replace the modern weapons. The problem with the modern weapons is more that it just doesn't make sense given you're in a survival situation with limited resources to be able to craft modern weaponry out of scraps of metal using nothing but a workbench and the basic tools you could have assembled for it. There's simply too much fine detail that actually has to be done by some form of mechanical device for you to be able to craft them under such circumstances. Honestly, I wouldn't even care if they just took the exact same weapon functionality and reskinned it to give it a more homemade feel. At least then it would make more sense. I think it would be better though if they either added some form of tool that must be found to craft modern weapons or they made them only obtainable as loot from boxes/monsters.

You shouldn't even be able to craft military weapons, they should be rare finds that are damaged and will stop working after some time, or are dropped by planes but still deteriorate quickly. You can make medium grade weapons at home but don't expect them to be semi-auto without more than just a workbench. I've seen a solid bolt rifle and bolt pistol made from just wood, a good spring, a bolt lever (of sorts), and some strong metal tubing. They're not going to hit out to 100yd but the rifles could hit a solid 50yd.

I dont know if anyone has posted this but I did read some where on the site... That the guns in the game now besides the pipeshoot gun will be way way harder to get or completely removed.. Garry's Vision I believe are more survival base/looking type guns just like the pipeshoot gun and the one they are working on now "Junk Bolt Action Rifle"( [url]https://trello.com/c/ullQzoTb/26-junk-bolt-action-rifle[/url] ) The modern guns now are their for ppl to play around with the game.. and what not

If they're post apocalpytic, sure. But not straight up M5s.

From what i've read they want to take more of a fallout approach to it... jerry rigged rifles and assault rifles etc... I don't think that modern guns should be removed but simply... have a different approach to them...

for what it's worth, i like it as it is but i don't think it should be as easily accessible

As I've understood, the military grade weaponry are only placeholders. You can only hope!

I don't really mind that the weapons exist but they're currently a bit too easy to obtain and manufacture for someone in the kind of extreme survival situation the game is otherwise trying to convince you you're in. It sends a seriously mixed message about the nature of your circumstances and (imo) ruins the theme. That being said, they're currently necessary since they're part of a very limited selection of weapons right now.
