Having a problem connecting to servers Error message: "Disconnect: Steam Auth: k_EAuthSessionRespons

So I wanted to try out Rust myself now after watching several streams and seeing how much changed.

If I start the game I can connect to a server for about 10minutes, after that I get kicked off with the message "Steam Auth: k_EAuthSessionResponseVACCeckTimedOut" and then I am unable to connect back. It works again for a short period of time if I restart Steam.

Is this a common issue?, does somebody know of a fix?

Your issue is firewall/port related. I suggest you comb over your settings.

If you updated your client you cant join a server at the moment. (check out the wrong connection protocol post).

Maybe this is related?

Validating the files did not work, I think it has nothing to do with "connection protocol thing".
I've had this since yesterday(since I started playing).
Will try to turn off my firewall/antivirus now.

its definitely related, and a lot of servers just disappeared for me since the update and hour ago.

Turning off Anti-Virus and/or Firewall doesn't seem to work.
I'm not sure what else I can do :(

So after trying a bit around I sadly did not come to a solution, since I do not use Windows 8 your program wasn't my issue.
I can't figure out which program is causing this problem.
I guess I just have to wait for Facepunch to fix it, since many people have the problem according to you, I hope that fix is soon :tinfoil:

It does work then again, but for a short period of time and then it happens again, I just hope it gets fixed.

I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE, BUT IF I RUN STEAM AS AN ADMIN IT FIXED THE ERROR FOR ME
