How to Fix Rust Raiding to the way it SHOULD Be. Open Forum Regarding Raiding and Bases.

Dear FacePunch Forum-ers,
This forum, Youtube, Steam, etc are all raving about "The UnRaidable
Base" or just whining about raiding being way too easy in Rust. I've seen
threads so desperate, that they are discussing about a chest that sucks
people inside if they open it.... come on guys. We are looking at this
completely wrong, here's the solution:
Note: This isn't just about these two ideas, this is a place where you can talk
about your ideas based off this topic.
The Last Resort:
You've fought valiantly. You've held your ground against the onslaught of 12
raiders, survived endless bullet holes and grenade shrapnel, even killed a man
with a rock because he was trying to take your beloved animal fat. But
this is the end. Your back is against the wall. One door stands between you,
your hard earned loot and 12 hungry, angry, swearing rival survivors. You look
down at your belt. 6 9mm rounds left. Low on food. Haven't slept for 2
days. You hear ticking. This is it. Around 5 or 6 seconds and they
will be in.... Fuck it-- Click --KABOOM in a symphony of
explosions, the base, the raiders, the loot room, and the helpless defender...
all combust to ash.
The Last Resort is a simple craft meant for going out with a bang! It would be
simple to add to the game, just use the c4 already implemented to explode by a
detonator instead of a timer or make a new craft all together that is made with
c4 and charcoal. The c4 used in the new craft is placed by the player on
whatever you want to explode. The charcoal could be used as what connects the
charge of the first explosion to the next to the next to the next. Or just keep
it simple and use the c4 already implemented that just wait dormant until the
detonator is pressed. Just ideas here on how to use/craft, it is a forum! (the
last resort would completely destroy everything in its vicinity including loot
boxes and everything inside.) IF I CANT HAVE IT, NO ONE CAN!!
Abandon Ship!:
Sir! They've breached the main hall! We've all fallen back to the loot
spawn/room, what do we do?? .... ABANDON SHIIIIIP! Three guys jet to the large
loot crates and rummage through what's important and what's not. Dude, fuck the
sulfur box grab that gun crate! One of the men quickly scoops up the weapon box
and rolls it out past the front lines to the back door with a dolly. He opens up
to a long drop down to a cloth trampoline with four worried men ushering the man
to throw down the box. He lifts the dolly and the weapons fall down to the
cushion and the four men grab the box and throw it into a wheel barrel and dart
off. The man who brought the weapons leaps off into the trampoline and readies
his pistol as the big wood gate opens. The bright light of day streams through
along with two raiders opening fire at the defenders! A guy takes one to the
face and the others jump to the left. Our weapon box carrying hero empties lead
into the offense. The defenders pick up the wheel barrel and sprint out the base
into the field firing suppression shots. Another guy gets his upper chest taken
away by a shotgun blast point blank. The survivors reunite with friends at a far
out hidden bug out and empty the load. In the distance three other caravans
sprint down the field with food, wood, and what not, headed to safety.
Sorry I went a little crazy there, but the main additions here are that boxes
can be moved (and possibly furnaces, beds, etc?) with a "dolly" or some sort of
wheeled tool to help move these heavy items. What would be cool is that the
dolly occupies your hands, so its not like you can just grab your shit and fire
back as you leave, you would be vulnerable and need a guy guarding you, or
expert matrix bullet dodging skills. The trampoline would be like that thing
that emergency services use to catch suicide-rs and what not. It would be a
simple craft: just cloth and wood. You place the trampoline somewhere outside next to your
base so if you are at the top of your 70 iron doored fortress, you can hop off
as a last resort, or a quick exit if you are leaving you loot room to grab some
grub outside. The wheel barrel is basically an Alt to the dolly. (to craft a
Dolly or a Wheel Barrel it could just be iron fragments and wood and maybe
stones--the wheels?) In the future, if vehicles are added (I've seen mods of
cars which seem cool) that would obviously be better than wheel barrels and
dollys but that may be pushing the lines of what Rust is all about. Remember we
are still on a forum so if you can think of better escape type things, share
with us!

Now you may be thinking:
Problem: Oh well you can just use the Last Resort as a weapon to line a base
with and blow up the bottom floor and gain easy access inside!
Solution: The solution to this could also be the solution to another problem
everyone hates about Rust. I think Rust should make a new rule for building.
Unless you personally placed down a wood flooring, you cannot place house parts.
This would not only eliminate the "immovable object in front of my fucking door"
problem, but would save everyone the headache of making pillars up the sides of
their base to defend from raiding stairs. Also you should not be able to place
flooring connected to someone else's flooring. This would compensate for people
just connecting to your house to raid it, if the "cannot place house parts
without flooring" rule went into effect. So the answer to this problem is, you
will not be able to place "last resort c4" in other houses. Now this, I believe,
would put Rust in the place it wants to be regarding raiding. It would make it
where the only way to raid someone is right through the front door! Not by
finding little crooks and crannies to build to and sneak in. If this is
implemented, at least the defender will have a better chance, and we can finally
build bases revolved around design, creativity, and inside defense, not just
about if its protected against people using stairs outside... I hate surrounding
my base with stupid ugly pillars!
Problem: Won't people just build up to your Abandon Ship Escape Exit and gain
access from the back??
Solution: As stated in the above problem, if the "cannot place house parts
without flooring" rule is instated, we will be safe from this.
I'm kind of dreaming big here regarding all those rules. I'm not trying to reshape the game, I'm just trying to make things a little more realistic and a little more reasonable. Once this game becomes a full release, there will be a lot more people joining in. These new comers will most likely be more casual gamers, unlike us Alpha Testing Warlocks, most people will instantly be turned off when they relog and they are dead, there house raped with stairs and other raiding building techniques, and all their time wasted. It's all about the sales in the end, so I think this will help out.

Guys-- The ultimate goal for us Alpha Players is to help contribute to the
creation of this fabulous game! I feel that if all this was added, we would all
have a greater Rust survival experience. If you agree or disagree or have some
helpful feedback/additions place em here!
Thanks if you sat here and read all my rambling!
From,
A fellow Rust Survivor :yarr:
You typed wayyyy too much that im confident that 90% of the people that see this will just be "TL;DR". I don't know, most of this stuff just doesn't fit into Rust's playstyle at all, and most people complaining about raiding is mainly because of the hackers that have all this shit, or just large groups, or people just building houses way out in the open.
I had a base right next to small rad town for a month on US East 1, where I could shoot into small radtown, and I only got raided once, which was unsuccessful and we defended ourselves (only 2-3 of us, one of which only had a pickaxe) against 3 guys in Kevlar. It's not necessarily that raiding is easy, it's just you have to think of a good base design or have it secluded somewhere away from all the action.

Yes I did type way too much, but not gonna lie that's some good info I posted! and yes that's what I want too, for survivors to defend their house! I'm not sure how much experience u have with Rust and all the tricky ways raiders sneak in bases, but this stuff I posted does address most of the problems. personally ive never been raided! but ive seen many aftermaths, and many videos of how they do things and its really just pathetic. I love that u survived against all odds, but unfortunately more experienced raiders attack bases in different ways, looks like u just got some average players, or maybe just cool dudes looking to play the game it was meant to be played
I really like the foundation thing. Stairs make it way too easy. Would make it a bit funnier too, having to loot C4 and stuff.
