I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but it comes to something when a new spawn can kill a clothed guy with a lit torch!
not if you're good at fighting ;)
I kinda like it, most times they don't but sometimes they do.
They could make torches break faster if used as weapon.

They already do, you will get a max of 7 hits out of a lit torch if your lucky. Killing a naked with one will almost render it useless.

Yeah, I know but what if you collect a couple of torches from sleepers and dead players?
I do this most of the time and killed alot clothed players which tried to kill me on sight.
Torches do alot damage.
It's a bit daft when a geared up guy has to keep his distance or even run away from a fresh spawn trying his luck or better yet, resort to his best weapon which is infact another torch lol! The torch is a tool, not a weapon. In that respect, I'm sure it does more damage than a stone hatchet!
I mean, lets be real here. It would REALLY hurt if some guy was thwacking you in the face with a piece of wood that was also engulfed in hot, continually burning fire.

Actually, not so much. The wood, yea, but fire tends to trail its fuel. so a quick thwack may not even singe your eyebrows. ever see a fire juggler catch the wrong end? they just drop it real quick. no burns.
Still, torches are fine, stop trying to nerf nakeds. its bad enough for them.

yeah of course it would hurt but it would break after 2 or 3 hard smashes, its an burning stick after all

When you use a torch as a melee weapon while it's lit, it DOES break in 2-3 smashes. Go try it.
Torches are OP.
When a little default torch to act as a big candle at night is the PREFERRED melee weapon to a wooden (or even a stone) spear, costing 300 wood, you know there's an issue.

yeah, but they are also free when you spawn, and newspawns/sleepers tend to have one on them, which kind of biases the choice.

Both hurt but a stone hatchet is way deadlier.
