Unable to join any server on Rust always get error message "Disconnected EAC: EAC Disconnected"

Hi I stopped playing Rust for about 4 months and now I want to start playing again I am unable to join any server.

Any server I join it will connect, go through loading, start downloading all the map data then just as its about to finish loading (around loading small monuments but not always here) it disconnects and I get

"Disconnected EAC: EAC Disconnected"

I have tried deleting the entire game and re-downloading, restating and trying "run as admin" as suggested in forums and various combinations of uninstalling/reinstalling EAC but nothing works I always get same error and cannot connect.

Please tell me how to fix this!

Steam ID: black_sack_32bit
Windows 10 x64 (not sure if I last played Rust on windows 10 or 8.1)
Game used to work fine, no hardware changes since then

It could be that EAC is acting up again but I doubt it. If you have already tried reinstalling EAC then I recommend verifying integrity of game.

Find rust in local files and launch from there, people say that works sometimes

Hi, I have tried verifying files both with and without deleting eac files first also deleted entire game and redownloaded. I also tried couple of other games I have that use EAC and they are working so out of ideas here :(

Did you try launching rust from its local files and not with a shortcut or through steam?

Make sure your firewall isn't set to block EAC. Delete and recreate the firewall rules for it, too.

Yep just tried launching it from Rust.exe and RustClient.exe both same result

I also tried disabling windows firewall all together and now it doesnt even get past "Warming the caches 300/1800" before it goes to the error screen.

The only other difference I can think of is I moved from the UK to the USA recently, assume there is no kind of region lock on EAC?

I don't think region matters, but steams steam guard system might be preventing certain procedures. Unlikely tho

Any more ideas? Any log files I can check? Any diagnostics I can run to help identify issue? Not sure what the error means, is it a specific thing or could it be lots of different things - log files would help!
Happy to help find the issue but would be more happy if I could just get on and play the game I paid for!

It needs to be patched by facepunch i think, but there is no activity from them.

Same for me. On loading screen stops and brings the mesage "Eac: Eac Disconnected"
