I seriously doubt the devs even read this forum but just incase they do I would like to let holmzy know that the second he joined the server that we were playing on some of the players appeared to go into meltdown and start babbling nonsense. I hereby apologise for the behaviour of these fools and I hope that you liked the look of the server other than those unnamed fucknuts who do not represent the larger rust factions community.
He's probably there to spawn in his friends to give them more loot hackers took/gathered. Y'know since they were the only group that got stolen from. Being a pro steamer has its benefits for sure.
He is just the new face for an issue that has only one solution. Regardless of intention or abstract moral justifications or the need to give players justice as a solution to injustice...it just doesn't matter.
Admins can only exist in Rust as passive observers. As soon as the game world is interrupted by the powers of an admin, it is as destructive to the players at large as is the damage the cheaters caused in the first place. It is a dynamic that is way deeper than it looks on the face. It's sort of like how if God were the manifestation of pure love and understanding, then by its very nature it would never be able to involve itself in tampering with the natural course of its creations.
Though I suspect that is a talk for another day, and another audience....

Admins exist in Rust to create the experience they desire on their server, whether passively or actively.

How hard is it to just ban the players or blow up their entire base/throw the loot underground where no one can get it? You have godmode and can fly through walls, just c4 everything/drop everything where no one can get to it. No, let's spawn in this popular streamer's team to grab the loot, that's fair to everyone in the server. I'm sure they won't use the rockets and C4 they got to raid other people unfairly.
This is a completely different subject so for the 3 members above that derailed it, go jump on some other bandwagon please ...
madeforwar, I don't really notice that sort of stuff so don't feel you need to apologise on their behalf, I wouldn't think less of a community server just from a minority of it's players, I had to leave to check out something on another server, I'll be back to check out the builds soon ;)
Cool man hopefull you will enjoy your next visit to the server, u joined last night as we were in the middle of a city raid so some people were on high emotions. It's great to se that the devs actually check out community servers, keep up the good work guys.

Oops, you are right about the derail, sorry. I misread the OP. There are other threads to discuss your misstep. I am a little embarrassed to have made that mistake in a thread dedicated to kissing ass of all things.
I apologize Holmzy. (which IS back on topic :D)

One of the tell tale signs that any given community has a toxic element to it, is when there is so much negative energy floating around, that actually trying to be nice, or assume personal responsibility, is considered ass-kissing.
Yeah my guess is that hovergroovie is one of the fucknuts that plays on whatever server it is he plays on.

I only read about this situation after the fact. Coincidentally though, we had just quit some french server for admin abuse, after a week and a half of persistent effort. This topic matters to me, and a whole lot of other people, which is why it's being talked about. I arrived at this thread to illustrate that Holmzy has become a sort of face of the topic. As I said, I misread the OP however. If I knew it was about apologizing for a community in uproar over something I agree with them on, then yes I would have left it to you.
Though if this "fucknut" becomes the bait for true toxic individuals, I'll float on the lure a while, sure. Forums are for discussion, after all.
There aren't other topics to discuss his moderator abuse because he closed them. He just needs to admit what he did was wrong, giving one group because you knew the guy before the event the chance at free loot and no one else is FUCKING wrong, no matter how you look at it. There is no way you can justify they DESERVED all that and no one else did, where's retribution for everyone else that got hacked into or raided by those guys? You helped people who already were doing quite well for themselves because you chose to and because he was your friend. Biased as fuck.

It's a god damn shame when you can't even trust official servers to be ran fairly, seriously. You could of made sure no one got that loot but you didn't and now people will always question that group on official and how legit they are playing. Who knows when they will catch another group using a hacker and Holmzy will come to the rescue to teleport them inside a rock to wait while he destroys their walls. Lmao.
bump for retribution

I gave out a hackers loot once and some people lost their shit saying I should have despawned it. I didn't realize so many people were against this. Prior to that no one ever complained about it. From then on I poll it. 1) despawn loot, or 2) randomly lotto it off. The majority of the time people say to despawn. If I tell them specifically what the loot is, and it isn't too much, then they side with a lotto.
I don't feel Holmzy did anything wrong. He's free to do what he feels is fair, and you're free to not play there if you don't like it. I've also given people their loot back after I banned a hacker if there was no confusion about who it belonged to.
Only on rust can a game dev receive a wall of hate for dishing out justice to hackers. What a disgusting community.
