I was recently banned in one of the official servers "Sydney 2" I'm going to start with what happened. Pretty much, just a normal day in rust. I just woke up and decided to get online. I did the usual things I usually do every other day, just kill people and flame thrower raid bases. My buddie, that I've known for a while came online. He wanted me to bag him in so we can go around finding some pvp. As soon as I put the bag down, gifted it to him. BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM It said something about "Cheat Detected, Disconnecting" something like that <---- Then right after that, I tried to connect and it said: Disconnected: You are banned from this server. I checked for external or sus programs running in the background, I just couldn't find out why I was banned! I've never cheated in the hundreds of hours I have in rust! This really sucks, all my work and effort and all the fun just going to waste for no reason what so ever. So I just really want somebody to check out my issue here and possibly we can find a solution to fix this. I Really enjoy rust and I just want to play ;(. My steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/quantumsec Please contact me here on the official forum or on steam, I really don't care I just want to be unbanned from my favorite server. [editline]16th June 2016[/editline] It was actually really funny, friends sent me screenshots of peoples reactions lol, they all think I cheat now. The truth is, I'm actually horrible LOL UPDATE ON WHAT I'VE GATHERED: Sydney 2, What I was told is. Before updates were pushed, somehow some Korean Gentleman known as "SCJ" He's known for his "hacking", this guy somehow got admin features/privs and they are doing things for the clan "TSGH" Chase That Feeling (Leader of the TSGH CLAN) people confirmed that this guy wanted me banned and SCJ banned me. It says "CHEAT DETECTED" it kicked me. Then Banned me. It was only from Sydney 2, so It's official that it was a dev ban. Who knows what this guy has done for the 40 man clan. They even recruited another hacker, who in their name is disrespecting an admin. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198311188720 This explains all of the Koreans on lately. Something needs to be done about this, it's absolutely fucked up that I'm banned. I can guarantee that I do not even cheat, out of all of the hours I have in rust. I am actually really shit. You can ask anybody on the server LOL So yeah.. Makes sense, the same clan I have been talking shit to/trolling/Stealing Clan TAG got me banned ;) I posted this all on his profile, this is what he has to say: http://prntscr.com/bhpyhe Obviously he's going to deny it. But after that he says "Maybe You Shouldn't have stole our clan tag then"
Was your base inside a rock? There isn't a gameban on your profile, so it was applied by an Admin and only effective for that one server.
My base was not inside of a rock, and would it be an admin ban? Because it kicked me saying something about cheat detected. Anyways if it was an admin, that's the most fucking retarded thing I've ever seen. I did nothing wrong and got banned in one of my favorite games. #adminabuse? I am a hated player on the server, there are abusive admins out there who actually accept money for doing shit like this. It was just for that server though.

I stole a clan tag for trolling reasons, is that why I was banned for cheating? "CHEAT DETECTED" BANNEDDD I never did anything wrong, plus I don't see an official server rule on that shit.

What else did you do?
lol
Sorry to say, but the only people who give a fuck about a clan tag is the clan. What else did you do?
Man, I legit have done nothing but shit talk to that huge clan of 40 who just kills nakeds and raids 2x2 wooden bases.
Man, I legit have done nothing but shit talk to that huge clan of 40 who just kills nakeds and raids 2x2 wooden bases.
Funny enough, I've never seen a Rust dev ban someone from an official server for that.
Funny enough, I've never seen a Rust dev ban someone from an official server for that.
IT said "Cheat Detected" then it kicked then banned me. I doubt this was a dev ban.
This was probably a server ban as you have nothing on your steam account.. Just find a different server to play.
AntiHack, the server monitoring program, does not ban, it only kicks. If you were banned from an unmodded server, it was a manual ban by a server admin, and on official servers these are the Rust devs.
This was probably a server ban as you have nothing on your steam account.. Plus sydney 2 is the most popular server. I love action ;)
What do you mean "Because I have nothing on my steam account"??
You don't have a game ban, which would be evidence of EAC catching you injecting hacks, that's what that means. You can play on any other server. Also, I have never seen the devs lift a server ban so finding another server is your best bet; they don't ban without justification. As for fussing about not wanting to start over, if you can't handle wipes and progress restarts you shouldn't be playing Early Access.

People pay $20 for a game, then get banned for no reason at all. It's fucking retarded. It's not even early game, it's about 2.5 weeks in, we have so much stuff and I don't want to loose it all because we don't even remember our codes. I've seen people get unbanned before.
It sucks that devs don't lift bans, I don't see why though. People pay $20 for a game, then get banned for no reason at all.
But the devs have reasons when they ban. We just don't know the reason at this time and you're sticking to your story that you don't know why, so we'll have to wait until a dev decides to chime in. And I am specifically referring to dev-issued server bans as something I have never seen lifted. There have been a very small number of false positives with EAC where the anticheat algorithm issued a ban on invalid data, and those bans were immediately lifted as they should be. I'm not the ultimate authority on devs undoing server bans that they've issued, but I've never seen a dev post on this forum that they've lifted someone's ban when that person's come to complain. For all I know people have been unbanned in private support ticket conversations with the devs, I don't have access to any of that, I'm only speaking on what I see.

They aren't very fucking active with appeals, as I've seen.
If devs even look at this. They aren't very fucking active with appeals, as I've seen.
Because there is no such thing as a ban appeal here. Mods don't have to tell us why you were banned but they do take their own free time to tell us.
Because there is no such thing as a ban appeal here. Mods don't have to tell us why you were banned but they do take their own free time to tell us.
I was banned because there was a "Cheat" detected. I have no idea...
"Cheat" detected
I think you have your answer...
I think you have your answer...
But there is no cheat lol, this is an appeal to try get myself unbanned cuz this bullshit.
I have some information for you Sylar. Your ban wasn't given by a dev. There has been a hacker on the Sydney 2 server that gained admin features before the game updated. What this allowed the hacker to do is open locked doors and ban people. There have been many people such as the FTS clan that have had this happen to them. The hackers name is "SCJ." He is Korean and known for hacking. I have a reliable source that has also told me that he is friends with chase that feeling. There have been reports made to the admins but nothing has been done as of yet.
If devs even look at this. They aren't very fucking active with appeals, as I've seen.
and why should they be active in explaining manual bans to people who have either cheated or been generally obnoxious?

I have a friend that knows an admin on the server, this will be sent to him and hopefully my ban will be lifted. Thanks ;) Chase That Feeling is in the clan called TSGH that i stole their clan tag, explains the ban now.
I can confirm this. SCJ is chase that feelings friend. I have been told he was the one that asked for you to be banned.
I can confirm this. SCJ is chase that feelings friend. I have been told he was the one that asked for you to be banned.
When I get back on, I'm going to expose him. I could use your help.
I don't have concrete evidence of him hacking. He's been using alt accounts to do it.

Not on the guy that banned you. I have spoke to a hacker that had associated with TSGH though. [editline]17th June 2016[/editline] Watch out, they've recruited another hacker http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198311188720
Bumping this so it can get noticed.
