You wait until you are almost dead then exploit a glitch? Good advice.....
You can kill wolves / bears etc the same way you do with zombies.
Start attack > Sprint towards. you should be able to hit them without being hit and also run past just repeat.
edit- takes practice with the awkward hitboxes for melee
