Moderators could you please merge this into http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1361748 if it's possible?
I apologize I did not see that thread until now. It sums up this issue way better than my thread.

im sure they will its just the fact that its been like 2 updates and still not fixed so im just making sure they know about it
counterplay: they are easy to destroy, builders are vulnerable when setting up if you have windows
happened to me. thats about when I decided to stop building forts and just live in small places most of the time.

This has been going on since the game was in a web browser.
I think its clever.
Because of the lack of proper raiding mechanics, barricades end up as the glitchy, yet still useful method of getting close enough to walls to c4 them.
The issue is less that they can be placed in such a buggy way, and more that raiders have no alternative but to place them like that to get at walls, and defenders have absolutely no defense besides building higher and hoping raiders dont build as high.
Removing it without rebalancing how raiding works would make tower building the ONLY way to make a strong base even more so than it is now.
The main issue that revolves around this style of raiding is that it only effects people foolish enough to only build one pillar high. This trick requires building ON TOP of a pillar. While it is absolutely something that should be looked into in terms of the pillar itself there is still a counter to this raid strat which is why it probably isn't as high a priority as experienced new players make it out to be.
Lolololol this pictures is from one of my many raids today raiding kurwa bandits :-). twitch.tv/froxerbbq

Incorrect. You can place barricades 'on top of' pillars even when there are more pillars on top of them already. Perhaps this only works when the first and second pillars aren't aligned (there are 4 orientations for pillars), but most people don't take the care needed to get their pillars all in the same orientation. To place on/in pillars which are built up already, you just have to get quite close to them.

I was unaware of pillar orientation. Im going to test this out.
Ya I've testing it for about 15 minutes now throwing boxes and everything anywhere I can to catch it at different angles from different heights. I can not seem to place a barricade on top of a pillared pillar.
I'm with you. Facepunch Team fix this please. I had the same problem http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1361748
Yes, this is a big deal that needs fixing. What needs fixing is NOT being able to jump on top of a barricade in the first place. So no, building a large storage crate and barricade jumping. or even boosting the barricade on a spikewall which makes less sense.

loooool, this was another one of my raids with my pillarospikewallerinobarricado raids.

All the bambis in the tree houses getting raided. Even a 10 story metal base got raided today =)
I've seen it not even need pillars, you just blow the wall on the bottom floor, triple box and barricade, blow the second floor, rinse and repeat to get to as many floors as you have supplies for.
Easy fix? You shouldn't be able to build/place structures on someone's foundation while they still own a door that's connected to it.
"p-p-pwease fix i so tiwwed of big bad meanies being able to climb up and steal my stuff :( "

Single-story, multi-entrance buildings are the way to go (7x7+), and probably about the same amount of material as a pointless uber-tower.

It's not thinking outside the box, it's a work around to having to think outside the box. You can use this tactic for every single base without fail. That's how everyone raids now, without any thought because it will work every time. No matter how much defense or planning someone has put into their base, you can just hop over it. Thankfully if you read the latest update, you can't place stuff on top of barricades or large spiked walls anymore, so at least there is a partial solution in the works.

mr.bamberino - You are wrong.
mr.bamberino - You are wrong.
Lol, must be a bambi because I would like to see actual innovation instead of players being pigeon-holed into a singular raiding method.
I will show you how to build good. the problem is all new player come to rust and make vidya "how to make base" then all bamberinos "oh ok". now make sure u subscriberino youtube froxerbbq
I don't think this is a bug I think it's intended. They fixed the spike wall build... To avoid this, build your base in such a way that no foundations cant be build around it, then use all the foundations and build a stilt house.
