• Playing with friends

Hello everyone. My friends and I have been playing together for a few days now and I have some questions about how we could improve our game. A lot of people on the fourms respond to people complaining about being wiped out by one nub with an silenced m4, grenades, and more c4 than a game a BF4 rush, with "Get a group together and play together" Now this is a good idea but we have having some trouble with it. In the current state of the game the only way really to defend yourself is to build a maze of metal doors and surround your house with metal spikes and pillars. Now this takes up a lot of space, which makes is almost impossible to tuck your fortress away into a rock face or out of the way since it is now the size of a football field and takes 15 minutes to run through opening up doors and closing them behind you. Now you have to remember that this complex is only good for one person due to the fact that unless you want to do the 15 minuted door walk twice to let your friend into the house your friend is going to be suck so far away you can't even use voice to talk. It also comes with the side affect that if you want to share this house that owner needs to be on if anyone of the other players want to play. So it seems that if you play with friends casually you have to give up the fortress of doom and thus being able to log off and not spawn in a field with a rock when you log back on. So, My question is, what good techniques do you guys have for playing as a group/sharing resources as well as being protected from raiders? I know that you cannot be raid proof but anything is better than everyone standing next to a fire desperately trying to eat something before we starve after we all just spent 20 minutes trying to find eachother only to be gunned down by some black ops person with a fetish for dead naked bodies and an silenced m4. Disclaimer: There is some sarcasm and exaggeration in this post.
Suggestion, try out my server or servers like mine. Community protected, we have patrols of neighboring homes, go bandit hunting. Ect. People still get raided but I have some personal tricks to keep you safe welcome to PM me and I'll give you some tricks. Otherwise welcome to come to Rustoleum with your friends.
I have seen more than a few players on our server have a giant primary base and then a 1-2 room "stash" hidden close by in the mountains. The idea is to get players to waste all of thier C4 trying to get into the big building in assumption that there are phat loots there when in reality it is empty and the good shit is hidden close by with a sleeping bag placed. One of my bases is actually built hanging off of the island over the water. There are no other spots around it to build so it is very difficult for people to exploit stairs and other means of getting access.

Do you think that it is better to build a large house and multiple doors for each person or better to make separate houses and enclose them in some compound with spike walls/gates?
I generally do the same thing as insight posted once I have a decent base established I go out and build a house somewhere really secluded and hidden just a single room with large storage boxes where I store a few spare guns and ammo + building supplies so if I get raided I can just leave and rebuild straight away. I also make a few decoy houses around the area making it less likely they will raid me.

Import to us as being metal ore and wood + medkits we were saving until we could research them. I was really looking for hints on how to make a defensible compound for multiple players. It is really tough to all work together, in my experience it has been tougher as a group than alone.
I like to stick a couple small stash sacks in corners/behind crates wherever i can in little hidden nooks and crannies in my house. Usually I stash a gun and some ammo, maybe a research box and some paper, anything that may be difficult to craft/gather. My house has been raided a couple times and they never seem to spot the little stash bags. Makes my restart at least a LITTLE easier.
To all those who are having problems starting out in this game- My clan has a server running right now that would be perfect for you. We're new so there's lots of space to build! The majority of us are members of -SV9- Clan and we're always looking to help people and get them set up in this game. We are a PVP/Sleeper server but have a safe and friendly atmosphere- You will be left to your own devices setting up a base and gathering resources and still have the option to raid an established base when you're geared! We have 3 friendly admins, willing to help and give advice when requested. We're also planning community events within the server with lots of rewards up for grabs! On top of all this, we have a full teamspeak channel to share with you and your friends. Server IP: 84.200.193.113:28035 -SV9- PVP/Sleeper Enabled TS Channel: 178.33.92.214
