• Caves and mine shafts...

I was looking at some random stuff and thought. What if there were small caves or abandoned mine shafts in rust? Like the caves go into the mountains and you can build a base in them or there could be mine shafts that are hidden and you can build in them. What do you guys think? I think it is an ok idea...
It'll just turn into minecraft
That's true.
Due to the way Rust's map is set up and built, it's rather difficult for caves to exist in the mesh. However, this has been suggested a good while back and the devs are looking at ways of achieving the same effect with interior spaces for caves and such.
Bomb shelters would be simple and go along with the theme. Could even have some mutant wildlife guard the entrance or even inside the bunker itself.
It'll just turn into minecraft
What a lazy ass argument with no bearing in actual reality. That would be like calling Minecraft a Warcraft III clone because you could go underground and fight giant spiders. And last time I checked, Minecraft was never defined by mine-shafts and caves anyways.
There are caves in more games than just minecraft... lol. I think having caves is an awesome idea. Would add serious depth to the game... perhaps even make them super hard to access by adding monsters that could run faster than you and took a lot of damage to kill?
