So I'm sure that this is already being considered, but I think it would awesome to have an entire crafting tree based around electronics. I think it would be cool to have to salvage old battery components, scrap electronics, etc. and be able to use them to craft some electronic devices. Flashlights - maybe you can find them, but you should need batteries to use them. Maybe you can find batteries, but the batteries could have a use-timer like flares or torches, and then you either need to find new batteries or maybe you can build a battery re-charger using an old car battery and some wire? Just an example. Lights - for use in your bases. Maybe you can find old components (bulbs, switches, etc.) and you would need to find wiring (think redstone-like) and then you could have lights in your base. I'm not the most creative person but I think it could be cool to have a whole tree of "modern-ish" devices and electronics that could be used. Rate if you like or if I'm dumb.
Mate, this all will be added in Beta. Now, we first need to fix bugs and add mechanics. But i agree with you, it will be really cool.
I figured it would all be added, but just wanted to encourage the devs. Maybe a GPS device that would allow players to see each other on the map if all players have a GPS?

Something like wire in gmod or redstone in minecraft would add an extra dimension to play with. The fear, however, would be "electronic only" servers where theres no pvp just people building electronic epeens to prove how smart they are.
I think it would be cool to have to build a generator outside your base to power the lights, etc. and then when some raiders want to raid your base, they'd be inclined to cut the power outside before breaching. Would be pretty cool.
I agree. I think it would be even better if it was somewhat "jimmy rigged" electronics, kind of how the handmade firearms are made of assorted junk/almost steampunk. I would like to see more of this "middle ground" than the full blown "modern" look -as it is quite a jump right now from cavemen to M4 Kevlar spec ops with not much in between.
Maybe when they add barbed wire, and when this is added, you could maybe charge the barbed wire with electricity just to add more damage to people who try to jump over the fence but fall short.

Probably one of the better ideas I've seen around honestly. Could be implemented in a way which would solve many of the game's issues too. [QUOTE]I agree. You just need a soldering iron, solder, wire... And the components. If you can make a non-exploding fully functioning 5.56 rifle, I don't see why you couldn't make a non exploding house alarm if you have the right parts... Or maybe an exploding one
