what I have noticed in rust is generally if you have more med packs on you than your opponent you are pretty much the winner. like the other day me and me friend were fooling around
(he just got the game so he is really bad) and we decided to do a little me vs him. since I am way better than him I gave him m4 and full Kevlar with 5 large medpacks. and I was naked with a pistol. so we are having the match in the forest outside my house and since I am more skilled than him I hit him like 6-7 and he hit me twice then he told me he was at like 5 health and he goes and hides behind a tree and spams the medpack button, 10 sec later he is 100% health and iam at lik 50%. after 5 min of fighting he wins simply because he had more medpacks than me and all he had to do was get cover for only 10 sec which kind of defeated the fact that I was way more skilled than he was. Also had same problem fighting other ppl.. I hit them a lot of times but the go behind a rock and get 100% health after 10 sec. so it'll be really nice if the medpacks are less op
What do you expect? Someone with medpacks and armor SHOULD have an advantage over someone who doesn't. That's the whole point.
Skill doesn't always have anything to do with it, and you really sound like you're just trying to toot your own horn and let everyone know how boss you think you are.

that's not what I meant. what iam trying to say is maybe instead of like 10 sec make it 30 for you to go back to 100 health
30 seconds back to health WOULD be reasonable though
otherwise they just have a "Passive regen" by clicking it every 10 seconds
maybe 1 second can't move/shoot
Hopefully this is all irrelevant anyway with the reboot. It would be ideal if nothing healed you in a way that was meaningful to combat and the role of meds was to get you back to health overtime afterward (as much to combat infection and complications as anything else).
I personally think that med kits should take a second to apply, but the HoT rate isn't that bad, especially considering any injury during that time cancels it.
Health packs make a big difference -- but combat in this game is awfully visceral. It doesn't take much to murder somebody, and health-kits don't recover health as fast as bullets remove it. The rate is fine. At range they can make a big difference, but at range things usually aren't as deadly anyway.
Imagine two guys, I will name them Guy A and Guy B.
Guy A played the server for a longer time than Guy B.
Guy B is a newbie and has practically nothing usable on the server.
Guy A is a veteran and has everything on the server.
Guy A > Guy B no matter what. Its like ambushing level 80 character with a level 10 character (its by far impossible)

I'm guessing youve never snuck up on a kevlar and piped him before

Attempted, successful but on an P250 + no medkit vs. M4 + medkits I lost in two or so minutes. That is a Rust gunfight in a nutshell

That's the point of rust
other players are the greatest enemy.
Personally I feel they are to quick to heal, seeing this adjust would help balance things a little in relation to weapon types and indeed armour, skilled/experienced players of course should have an advantage on those traits.
Love the idea of them not really being useable in the fight, i.e MUCH longer for them to work also a player should be in craft mode whilst the medipac does its thing, this really would help the combat balance in game.
Its just a bit silly to dance around with 25 medpacks which magically heal bullet wounds if you sprinkle them over your head whilst you strafe your opponent and try to shoot his face.
If he hides behind a tree rush him.
I once (Actually today xD) won against 2 kevlar guys they had M4's, I had Cloth gear and a P250 and Medkits of course, they also had medkits. They didn't seem very skilled, but I killed them xD.
I have never noticed that adding more health packs heals you any faster. Just don't let someone hide, keep engaging and use your health packs also. Just another aspect to the PVP of the game, just like spamming food in a fight.
I do agree.... I think you should be able to use medpacks, but it should take maybe, 5 seconds of standing still.
We need to re-think this. I think we all hate the idea of jabbing someone with a medkit to heal them. We can be smarter than that.
The medkit consists of a bunch of other stuff - so lets have them instead maybe? Syringe, bandaids, bandages? Any other ideas?
I must say the Large Medkit is currently ridiculously overpowered by a "realistic" standard. I'm not one of those people that likes to bang on the "realism" drum. I like the realistic feel of Rust but I want there to be some allowances for the fact its a game, and the fact that most of us would like it to be somewhat balanced and fun. Reality is not always balanced and rarely "fun."
... however, realistically, if you shoot me twice in the chest with a revolver, its going to take a lot more than 10 seconds before I'm at 100% health. Even if I receive immediate medical attention and my loss of blood is stopped, the shock to my system from being shot twice is going to be pretty insurmountable.
Nothing like the "large medkit" exists in today's military battlefield, so in terms of realism and balance, I think we need to consider nerfing large medkits at least a little bit.
I like the idea you have to stand still for them to work. That perhaps reflects sitting still while you apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding and give yourself a shot of morphine for the pain. You can't do that while you are "running and gunning."
Well I don't want to sound all big headed and all, but simply aim for the head. The quicker you are at this the easier it is to kill someone. Your opponent could have lets say 5 large medkits and you only have 2 small, you could still easily kill them with one head shot and one-two body shots. Yes, easier said than done, and im not trying to brag here, trying to help!
Medkits will have an animation, that's planned. It means it takes a few seconds to apply them, during this time you're vulnerable
What kind of arguing is that ?
Of course medkit are overpowered. This is why you need to be prepared before fighting.
its not riddiculously OP tho. it gets cancelled if u take any damage...so during fights u usually chew thru plenty of medkits, not to mention the hassle it takes to make them (draw blood=forever, farm animals=longest kind of farming). plus everyone uses them.. whats the fucking problem here?

My partner and I have ambushed and killed guys in Kev before with bows, multiple times. It's not impossible.

True.
the only thing that is OP are retarded animals and their aggro range and their retard behaviour.
wolf see > wolf turn superman > wolf glide thru trees across countries and all seven seas > WOLF WILL KILL U!
I really don't see the complaint about them being overpowered. As I said before, I think they should take a second to start up and use, but they aren't that bad. If you shoot somebody ANY time during their heal, you CANCEL the rest of the heal. So even if you have a revolver, you can just spam somebody out if they start trying to heal, or even throw a grenade at them if you can't reach them (not really for a kill, just to stop their regen.) They heal slowly enough that if you see somebody hide and you've hit them a few times, take the initiative to run over and kill them while they're hurt.
And if you want realism, most people are done fighting after getting shot just once.

that was exactly what I kind of was trying to say, I wanted to be more like dayz you know It takes longer to heal up. maybe not same level as dayz but not 10 sec to get healed up either

Even though weapons/armors and med kits are important the skill is the main deciding factor in a fight . + the p250 is a great weapon and is nowhere far from the m4's capabilities . Joined so many servers long after they've been wiped and I only needed a bow/pistol/pickaxe to get kevs and so do many others, don't complain about the game if it's your skill that needs to be improved. I agree with Jinx though , I think a slower regen would make a fight more intense .
