Over 30 hours played, completed everything, my thoughts....

I want to start off by saying stairs, doors and windows make this unplayable at the moment, we had a fort with large spike than small spikes around the entire parameter of the house, they use stairs over the spike and than stairs to get on your roof, when building you roof will be open due to your own stairs so they walk down blow a few doors than lock me in my own house with metal doors they placed just to be true dildos. This im sure has happened to everyone and is bullshit stairs make spikes a waste, windows a waste and usually I keep best loot and sleep top floor for safety but stairs wreck that too.
Next is the storyline.... what the actual fuck, now I have played so many hours because I love the game but end game is shit house why? Because we go from starting as a caveman naked with a rock and torch THAN JUMP TO 21ST CENTURY M4'S, EXPLOSIVES ETC ETC. This is why new people have issues, it's not play safe youll be right, its your a caveman trying to fight soldiers... Some of my favorite times was when I started first day on release we didnt know what to expect, first night came I was near hanger made a fire and like 15 other naked guys came from no where all we all just joked around at the fire.
Than you explore more and make bows, cloth, leather and scavenger villages for blue prints (research kits need to he nerfed, you litterally meet a friend now and learn every single item with 1 research kit just destroys purpose in my opinion)and scavenge for other things and than make some home made rock shotguns and shit. This was all really fun, than I get given a research kit learn everything turn from a caveman to a 21st century soldier... the fuck? This game needs to pick a side are you caveman ages or are you modern warefare. You go from naked to full metal armor, a rock to a fully customizable M4 semi automatic rifle, a torch to flares and huddled around a fire to a full mansion ( which is pointless due to stairs at the moment).

devs said only today they want to make modern weapons rare on concentrate on primitive ones.

Yeah I saw but if they keep research kits unlimited use than they wont be rare for long. And even than it will come down to who is lucky enough to see a m4 drop than have so much power in the game to kill who they please?

I said the same thing as you, the response was that everything in Alpha is accelerated in order to test as much as possible.

Ah okay, fair enough than. Did they say anything about griefing with stairs and blocking people in with doors?
i agree with all your points, however i think research kits need to be removed from the game and recipe's only get learned by obtaining blueprints.
also, i believe C4/grenades need to be removed from zombie drops and air drops and only crafted with rare blueprint drops. after 2 hours of game time i can get my hands on enough grenades to blow down anyone's base/metal doors.
What exactly made you think this was set in "caveman" era? There are modern buildings and radiation present.
The thing your forgetting is that you payed for the Alpha! As the devs have mentioned before they plan to and have ready started leaning towards primitive/handmade weapons with M4's and C4 being, either removed from the end game or nerfed so they are extremely rare which in my opinion is a great idea. As with the research kits I totally agree. I think the fix to that is researching and item uses up the kit in the process as well as a large quantity of paper. Also I believe that higher grade items should require higher grade research kits that would have a limited drop rate. Example. Lol 3 research kits required to learn metal building supplies could only be found by killing zombies around the factory with a drop rate of 1 in 100.

Eventualy, someone that understands, you just explained it alot better than me :). A very precise interpretation of how the current game is. With the nerfed guns hopefully things should get alot better.
I also had much more fun when i was running around on launch day with all neked nubs :).

If you didn't notice everyone started off like this but they all did fine didn't they? And there are no 2 hit guns. The only 2 hit weapons are bows (which requires skill) and the pickaxe.
Dude, the M4's and all that stuff is placeholder and is meant to become super rare and uncraftable, I feel like I have typed this message in about 986 threads. It's an alpha we're trying to get everything stable. We know there is no way you should be able to make an M4 out of 'metal' in 2 hours of game time, it's in there because we're testing everything, as soon as possible we will do a balance pass

Please please please put this on the steam page or something! Alot of people, myself included are making the same observations and it seems to be causing a bit of a ruckus.
In an Alpha like this i think people need to be made aware of things like this. It is game breaking for most, and us noobs from steam dont know any different until told so.

Full kevlar is +85 to melee and bullets. So yeah?

Actually, I was waiting for this post. I had my suspicions you really didn't have balance in mind yet, but it's actually nice to hear it from an admin. I somehow get the feeling you might have said that 986 times, but bear with us noobs, we just got here and we're dying to nag people off!

First off I want to say thanks for the reply :). Now as I said I have played over 30 hours and I love the game but the point of an Alpha is test test the game and share what you think about it which is what I've done. If guns arnt going to be like this on release than why have it in alpha? The stairs and doors is a real big issue IMO. We cant test the game and give feed back if this isnt the final plans for it and it's almost unplayable

I on board with you, however i believe the reicipes for the more high yield weapons should be much more complicated.
Simply increasiing the difficulty of crafting would help. Adding a some more recources. Sulfur Zinc Salt, charcoal, =compound: Flare, cloth, metal fragments=blasting cap: cloth and leather =pouch: combine all 3 to make a charge
You could even get more complicated with other things Weapons should be made with a Press, and Stamp kit Etc. Still early in the game to see some of these things but it would greatly improve the crafting and survival aspects

Check their trello, as well as this their aim is to have makeshift weapons and improve defences. Even their researching is going to improve.
