Idea to improving the map system
Currently, if you die with a map you lose the map witch is fine and great enough.
But what if you could place a craftable map table/wallmap/floormap or something that lets you both update and copy map information?
Example:
You walk around, growing your map, make it back home safe and upload your map to the map table.
Whenever you die and loose the map your still able to copy your old information to the new map from your old copy via the table.
That way mapmaking actually becomes a gameplay system an entire clan can take part in, even useful when you're going solo.
No need to start all over as long as your able to make it back home safe and upload your new information.

Probably everybody else is using playrust.io (or something) which shows every map of the connected servers. If that one is removed, then yes: let us make a map table.

I wish they did that, using playrust is a huge advantage over people that dont know about it, and totally breaks immersion IMO

that dont means that hs idea isnt good. That "Map Sign" could be a cool thing but that would eat a lot of data

How come?
It could just be a normal sign with some special perimeters, it would take up a single room, you would be able to make copies of it to normal maps, it would show the tables current location on the map and you can draw on it. Does the Map website still show your location and movement.
I'm sure some modding or official feature will allow you to create clans and everyone in the clan would show up on the table moving in real time, anyone that can see the table would be able to see where all the clan members are.

the server has to hold all of these perimeters imagine 300 maps on that server. We had the same problem with the signs a long time ago
Or they could just scrap the whole you lose your info when you die thing and make the map actually useful for the sake of gameplay.
