Hello everybody! I'm a student from Purdue University doing a project on discourse communities. I had a friend tell me about this game and it sounded like the perfect subject for my project. Wow, not even 24 hours and it's almost 200 responses! That's much more than I expected, thank you very much everybody! And no, this is not all I have to do to get an A, it's just part of the A. The project is basically to look at some kind of community, identify some key points that make it a discourse community (goals, intercommunication, participation, lexis and genres of communication) then offer observations and analysis on it. The end product has to be a website so I'll probably put a link up when I finish it so everybody can see the results.
And as for the quality of education, this is only a 100-level English course. The courses that pertain to my actual major are much more rigorous.
Well, I took the survey. Even though I am a student in Kelley School of Business at IU. Even still, i do have a soft spot for people doing surveys. They require too much effort =P.
