Computer spec. . . . . . Opinions please - Rust

Hi looking at getting a new pc so I can play rust, can't upgrade as I have another post where I'm came to conclude my laptop is just too old. Ps I don't have a fortune to spend, this pc is from amazon and is £330. Please can ppl let me know if this is any good in repect of playing rust. If you are really shallow on money you can get some more expensive APUs that have better built in gpus. Basically, either way, you need to invest more money.

Any sort of onboard graphics will absolutely not work with rust. (Unless you call 10fps on lowest settings working.) Plus your cpu has two major problems. 1: it's amd. 2: it's only got two cores.

You really need a powerful computer. There is soo much landscape being drawn by the gpu. $850 without monitor is a close AMD/mobo/ram/psu/gpu. $1150 without monitor Intel i5/mobo/ram/psu/gpu However I truly recommend spending almost $350 as a minimum on a GPU. I would just keep saving up and get like a 550$ tower from New egg or Dell then upgrade the insides when you can. The key to this is the motherboard. You want a very good one. And they're gpus are cheap and nasty until you get to the higher end gpus. Even their higher end gpus don't perform anywhere near as good as nvidia. There's a reason nvidia and Intel are currently destroying amd. Plus amd have a record for not updating drivers as much as they should be. I would never buy anything amd.

I have an i5 6500 in my new rig paired with a r9 380 4gb v ram and 8gb ram it runs rust On beautiful at a steady 40-75 fps, it wasn't supper expensive either at £720

pcpartpicker is a great site if you want to build it yourself, their forums are very helpful too. You will probably be able to find other people asking for builds in the same budget range as you in the "create a parts list for me" section. It's also hard to balance things around Rust now, since even for people with PCs that can play other games great, they might struggle at times with Rust until things get optimized. You'll need to settle for lower settings in the near future I'd think. All that said, I built a computer about a year ago for around $800 US that plays on medium settings great. And that's with a pentium CPU (old architecture), but I have it overclocked. So I plan on replacing that soon with an i5 and that will help my performance a lot. I also bought my GPU off of ebay and saved over $100 on it. That's always a risk, but I tried to do my research on the seller and found someone who seemed reliable. Bitcoin miners are always selling off their old GPUs when new ones come out every couple of months. I started with 8gb ram, and just recently bought another identical kit for $35 and now have 16. That's something you could save on for now and easily upgrade later. Person above was right that you should get a good motherboard so you can buy the minimum now and upgrade later. Thus allowing you to get a much better build all round for the same price. Most pre-built pc's are complete rip-offs but they're aimed at the people that aren't tech savvy and don't know how to build a computer themselves.

2nd hand i5 >4500 = 100 euro 2nd hand AAA motherboard = 90 euro 2nd hand fast 16 Gb DDR3 mem = 60 euro 2nd hand sufficient GPU (660)= 90 euro 2nd hand casing = carton box other stuff u have.. total costs: 340 euro. with that hardware you will most probably be able to play with all quality sliders full, and gpu quality 3 want to enhance that chance, substitute the gpu with a 970, 2nd hand = 250 euro, total costs = 500 euro, now you can play all on max, better yet, within a few months Nvidia will introduce a new GPU line, Pascal, it will be 10 x faster then this Gen, and 50 times faster then Moores law predicts.

There are some chinese dealers that sell so many they look high rated, but there are still lots of negative reviews, they just are a small percentage so they don't show up unless you look close. I didn't want to chance it with them personally. Also, I forget which ones now, but there are GPU manufacturers that will honor warranties even if you aren't the original buyer/don't have a receipt. Some research into that might be worth it just in case.
