I understand there is a new patch coming out - does this require the servers to be wiped?
Basically I am curious as to when and why the official servers get wiped.

Unless I misread something I don't think that topic mentions servers being reset.
With all the changes to crafting requirements, it would be really sad if they didn't reset the servers. I love the people who argue "But we worked hard for everything we have now." It's either a poor effort at trolling or you are REALLY bad at this game.
Within 1 to 2 hours, I can join a new server (new for me) and have Full Kevlar, M4 with the attachments I like, at least a full stack of 5.56 Ammo, and a good enough base that I can mass produce out of.
The changes are pretty big with Kevlar now requiring Low Quality Metal and Leather; instead of just Metal Fragments. Grenades has been changed instead of 15/15 Gunpowder/Metal Fragments it's 80/30 Gunpowder/Metal Fragments. 5.56 Ammo if I remember correctly is like 5/2 Gunpowder/Metal Fragments now.
So clearly, without a wipe people who have this stuff stock piled are at a mass advantage AND I am one of those people that have that stuff stock piled in my various bases hidden through out the map on different servers. A wipe is very much needed or I can just run around a LAWL while I am sitting on several 1000 5.56 Ammo and numerous full sets of Kevlar.
I've got no problems with servers being wiped but I'm trying to get an idea of how often it happens to the official ones.
Does a new patch require the server to be reset?
And if no patches are released how regularly are the official servers wiped?
