First of all I want to say that English is not my main language so I may make some mistakes.
Today I have had a good idea: making a "The Purge" themed server. Most of you will have heard about this film, and if you haven't, here is a brief resume:
[I]In the year 2022, the United States has become "a nation reborn" thanks to the New Founding Fathers of America. Crime and unemployment rates are hitting an all-time low due to the government having instituted an annual 12-hour period called "the Purge" during which all criminal activity (including murder, theft, and rape) becomes legal. The Purge is designed to act as a catharsis for the American people, so that they may vent all negative emotions and repressed urges however and on whomever they desire, although it is implied throughout the film that the Purge is really just a method of population control, allowing the weeding-out of the impoverished and other people who are seen as a burden on the economy and society in general.[/I]
People in this server would play without killing each others and without raiding, but each real life night, there is a period of one hour in which everything is allowed. You can stay at home defending your base or go out to kill some people or raiding them. You can even shot your mate in the face when the purge starts. The day/night cycle would be of one hour so the purge happens in the night.
I think this is a good idea but it would need a populated server to be done because getting new players would be veeery hard.

Well, PvP can be enabled and disabled without a restart, and griefing can be controlled with a plugin like Vinegar for example.

Could still raid, but i would be down to give it a whirl. I love the idea.
there's been servers with this theme out there, don't know if any are running right now. never played on one though, i prefer more of non-craftable c4 servers. makes it easier to get going with a base and everything if you didn't start [I]right[/I] after a wipe or dont have the time to constantly be online defending from raiders. raids still happen, just not as common.
