i and my friend have the same problem :/ i hit tree but does not give me a wood :/ same animals, and zombie dont attack me, this is so weird bug rly guys i cant play :/
after reconnect it is all ok for 5 minutes and again I have to restart to play normally :(

Its some sort of Ghosting issue where u lag out and your guy actually stands in one spot while u move around the map but cannot interact with anything.....Mine started out like every 10 mins now I have 30 sec-2 mins before I have to disconnect then reconnect As fast as possible before sum1 takes all ur stuff.....Also if sum1 stumbles upon where u lagged out they can kill you and its like you just die outta nowhere, they say there working on it but I've had the issue for almost a month now...
I pay 18 euro and can not play, because i have this bug or lag... :(

The game is in Alpha stage, that means it's NOT complete, its a work in progress.
You should be more aware of what your going to buy than just fork over the money.
