Imagine...
You're standing somethere in open site... naked, alone, with nothing but rock in your hands. Maybe beside appealing pile of woods or stones and you apparently don't aware how to manage with these even..
Standing and waiting for killers in sight.. At last you've noticed a guy running up to you with screaming 'friendly' for cut down your body with hatchet... or a cheater flying high above for shoot you down with single shotgun shell at distance 10000 foots. And he did it.
But he didn't have a clue that behind rocks nearby there's a wooden shelter. With a sleeping bag in it. With a storage box next to it. With a revolver in it.
So while KoS is leaning over your stiff body for his bloody reward (of 'cause finding nothing), you're respawning and taking gun and executing him.
Justice is done :smile:
Did this a couple times myself, works well with ordinary bandits, but fails against cheaters ;)
If you want real idiot bait, you keep 6 of your friends with full kevlar and shotguns, and when you respawn, you come back as a naked caveman with your SWAT team posse to exact revenge.
There are fewer things scarier in Rust than seeing a squad of riot cops led by a screaming naked man, all intent on ending you.
How I bait bandits and burglars at night:
1. Create a wooden shelter with a door.
2. Place a campfire inside.
3. Hide somewhere and wait for people that will try to break in (it takes literally seconds).
4. Kill them while they are busy breaking in!
I do this only because I can't just kill random people without having a good reason first. :P
I have a funny story for this, I saw this happening on a server I play on, a naked man with only starter items was running to a gigantic base with people who shot on sight. They instantly shot him, as expected, checked his body for a little while. I decided to get a little closer. I saw a team of about 16 people running and gunning to their house and raiding it. There was a gigantic fire fight but it was hilarious to watch. It was an awesome sight till a zombie came out of no where and killed me.
