Before the latest update the only way to get rid of a wolf was bugusing, making it loose the path to you by running up a hill and jumping down(they can't jump), then they just stood there for a while and the problem was over. They still were a pain in the ass and made me ragequit several times, but at least you could get rid of them(unless there were 5 of them which was the case after 6th February).
But now it's even more ****ed up, I just started on a new server trying to get some wood and ore, by the time I had ~500Wood I wasted all my bandages, I tried to get wood, wolf, tried to get ore, wolf, tried to kill a boar, wolf. I was able to get rid of them the way I stated above(but a lot harder since the update), but the last one was the worst. I had no bandage and was just about to craft some, boom, wolf, what a surprise. So I ran into the mountains jumping off everything I could find, doing that for about 3 minutes, now the wolf just found new paths to me all the time. I was bleeding, couldn't craft a bandage because the damn wolf was behind me.
Am I the only one raging about that? Wolves should be slowed down or at least have a max radius for following people. Without a shotgun or any other weapon it's pretty much impossible to get rid of them, especially at night I usually run away from 1 wolf and end up with about 4 of them.
Ill rythme this for you:
Kill pigs, get bow
wolfs arent problem no more
I agree OP. Wolves should be slowed down.....in the real world.......to match how slow they are in the game.
Wolves are not OP. They are managed by a very weak AI, are predictable, and can be outrun. Follow rizzeh's advice and get a bow. The wolves are the least of your worries...other players are far more dangerous.
Craft a Bow, the most useful weapon when you start, believe me :)
The wolves are fine the way they are. If anything, they need to change it to where when you aggro one, all the others within their little clique also aggro, and to the closest player.

It takes 2 arrows to kill a wolf....it takes very little wood and cloth to make a bow...what is the problem again?
Arrow to the knee always the best offence! :v:
Always scout around FIRST before you start mining.
E eat wolfs everyday! (Rust days)
Seriously? Is so easy to deal whit them.
Lol you are mad because they made the game more challenging? Well at least them making the game better will weave out the little kids then!
wolves are cunts
