Ban Appeal - Rust - Facepunch Forum

Hello everyone, So I have a couple hundred hours in this game and have had a great time playing with friends. I logged on a few weekends ago and got kicked naked farming on a new server wipe. I tried relogging and it told me that I was server banned. I thought OK... maybe I pissed a mod off or something so messaged the [RedditUS] mod on steam and asked why. He said it wasn't server side and to contact facepunch. I emailed facepunch and they said it was EAC. Holmzy responded pretty quickly with: " Gamebans/EAC bans are given by the automatic EAC (EasyAntiCheat) system, for detection of known hacks/cheats running in Rust memory. The bans are permanent, as you can read here: [url]http://faq.easyanticheat.net/content/18/18/en/i_ve-been-banned.html[/url] If you want to try your luck appealing the ban, then contact EAC on their official forums here: [url]https://steamcommunity.com/app/282660/discussions/[/url] Thanks Holmzy ". I messaged EAC through the link Holmzy sent me here [url]https://steamcommunity.com/app/282660/discussions/0/357287935562982098/[/url] EAC told me to message Facepunch. So as noted in that link, I did install a folder on my computer that Reddit/r/playrust told me to install when the EAC certificate was invalid and I was mid raid and itching to log back on. I realize it was stupid to do that hindsight, but I falsely assumed that it wasn't "wrong" to do because a highly upvoted post told me it was a good workaround. I can now see how maybe that could have triggered a ban. I have since uninstalled the whole game/folders and did a fresh install. Could you post your SteamID? We don't even know what account has been banned in the first place and if you've really cheated don't bother trying to appeal, it'll take two second for EAC to check their database on if you're lying about the ban.

Level 2 on steam, have less than 10 games, haven't even changed your profile picture and don't have a considerable amount of hours in any game other than Rust. I appreciate everyone chipping in with their 2 cents but I would love an actual response from SOMEONE. Everyone is saying it's not their side that did the ban. This is my first computer that I've ever bought for gaming, purchased Rust the day it arrived from amazon(the reason I bought the computer) and haven't really played much of else. I feel like I have done more than my due diligence on this, I have a full time job and a part time job after so I don't have time to play often( or respond to these forum posts). I just think it is ridiculous that I cannot get an answer on this from anyone. We've had people been using as an excuse for age's now and not a single one was banned by the so called file system problem, so if you'd like to come up with something more original, please do. In fairness if the computer was ordered from Amazon, it's entirely plausible that OP installed Steam and bought Rust as soon as he got it set up. That's not an obvious lie; it doesn't mean he's innocent, either, but I see no reason to call bullshit on this. Make sure you read before chambering a zinger.

someone bought me a steam game that I could play on my old macbook air that long ago(I played LoL with the guy, LearJetz) Risk of Rain something and I played it for like 2 hours. That's the only thing the POS could handle besides LoL and it shit out a year or two later. Seriously, I love the internet detectives but could FP just respond and ban me or reinstate Rust? I would consider rebuying the game but it's the principle of the matter that I didn't hack and this is so much bullshit that I have had to go through

I was just banned after 2.3k hours in rust. I farm and play the game like everyone else i have key binds for this game and set up my dpi to help with recoil with my AK. I just spent 2 hours on a building server for my recoil also and i have many videos on twitch showing how bad i am at the game. and i have not once been accused for hacking directly. I suck at pvp but i find farming to be relaxing so i spend most my time doing it if i can get unbanned can i just ask why i was banned truly my favorite game and want to keep playing and i love the way its going and how you are trying to help the little guy.
