Just bought this game about 3 hours ago, for 3 straight hours I've been trying to get on for some reason I can click on the server but nothing will happen no load screen, no error just nothing happens and yes I double click. Any ideas let me know I hope I didn't waste money looks like awesome game.
Same issue for me.
I've tried re-installing, restarting my computer, validating the files, etc.
Nothing works.
Is there a error message?

I clicked F1 all it said in the grey rust console box was rust at the top I don't know what to try nothing happens when I click on any of the servers.
they are in the middle of a big update that goes live tomorrow i imagine the server owners have to apply the update and if you have updated your copy b4 they update the server it won't let you connect, if you opt in to the dev beta it gives you early access to the updates and shows the servers that have applied them.
I haven't updated yet I was never able to get on ill check later I guess
steam auto updates all of its games by default, try the dev branch its under game properties, they put up the new BAR it's awesome
What do you mean try dev branch I don't know what that means
if you go to rust in your steam library click your RMB to bring up your context menu go to the very bottom where it says properties click on that then go to the last tab called BETAS then click the drop down box that says NONE- opt out of all and choose the dev- Live Developer Branch option click close and wait for the update to finish you should be able to play
That just made it worse it seems now the menu and all is laggy and only 1 server shows up and nothing happens again
net.connect "ipaddress" seems to work for me.
You'll have to know the IP Address of the server though.
