Dear Rust Developers.. The Combat System needs a Fixin', here are a few thoughts.

[B][I]I don't mean to be negative towards the progression of your game, Rust, but things must be said now. Before I start my complaint/request I need to please ask readers to read the WHOLE post before you judge my words, I might clear something up later on that you didn't agree with. I also need to ask that you please not take this as me just complaining about how your game IS, I'm only bringing up things that I have heard and experienced from other players. Rust is a AWESOME GAME, but some things need to be addressed. [/I][/B]I've never made a game, and I am not too familiar with making them, I know it's a lot of work, but sometimes developers can take games too far. I myself am a competitive gamer when it comes to shooters. Yes, Rust is a survival game, but it requires a large amount of shooting to be done. The combat system in Rust is really taking a toll on me and many other players. I speak not only for myself when I say, "The combat is just too impossible!" By this we mean that it's too hard to kill, and to be killed. I usually play on battlefield servers because I enjoy being able to attack or defend myself every second of the game. A few examples of what really annoys players are:
1. The recoil is too much to compensate for, I want to shoot someone, not wait a full second between each shot just to be able to shoot them. Yes, you added muzzle attachments, but it's still overwhelming, plus the accuracy decrease with the muzzle still makes it too hard to hit people. "But this game is supposed to be realistic", go outside and play in the woods, that's where you can find your realism. Today, I spent 2 clips from the AK trying to kill someone who was jumping around 30 ft from me, and I wasn't even spraying that heavily. I don't consider myself to have bad aim either, I've played ton's of shooters for multiple years now.
2. The armor is OUTRAGEOUS! This connects with the recoil; if I can't shoot anyone but about 3 times every 4 seconds, how am I supposed to kill them when they have armor on and it takes 12 shots to kill them?! And now you want to add heavy armor?! Please stop! I know you worked hard on modeling, but it's going too far. To make sure you understand: If I can barely shoot someone as it is, then how am I to shoot them multiple times. Also, the bolt doesn't do enough damage at all, if I'm sniping from a very far distance, and I get a headshot, I want that player dead, not alive just because he has head armor.
Now that I've got those things said, I need to tell you something very important; I AM NOT A COD PLAYER! I just know I'm gonna get people all up on me trying to tell me that I want the game to be easy, and I just need to say No, I'm not telling the Developers to turn this game in to a COD, besides, this game is very unique and I love it, I'm merely addressing concerns.
Now you might want to hear my suggestions for fixing the problems, so here they are:
1. Just lower the recoil? You guys put in muzzle attachments, but if the player uses them, they lose accuracy along with it, that's not what should happen, lower the recoil to the point where I can use my AUTOMATIC rifle how it's meant to be used... Automatically. Like I said, I don't know how much coding is needed to integrate this, but we the players need it. Also, maybe make an option for servers to have realistic gun play and non realistic? Just so you don't upset however many people really like the high recoil.
2. Don't make heavy armor, actually, you know what? Make heavy armor, BUT make it equal to the highest rating armor you have right now, maybe add a riot shield for people who REALLY need that heavy offensive defense you know? But really, you guys need to lower the armor stats, it's so freaking hard to kill people. If I'm being more strategic than the other team and sneaking behind two guys, I literally can't kill them both because it's just too hard, they can take their time shooting me because I'm at a disadvantage, give smart players an advantage by lowering the armor stats. Do NOT make armor piercing rounds, please please please do not. We(the players) don't want those, players need to be able to use their armor as offense/defense, but if you make armor piercing rounds that will destroy the need for armor and no one will like you. Ex: I'm raiding a base with HEAVY armor and I'm taking hits for my team so I can just throw C4 on a wall, if I can't even make it to the wall because people are doing normal damage to me through my armor because they are using armor piercing rounds, then why even raid? Don't get me wrong, you still need to take damage with armor on.
I can't see any negative effects these changes will have on your game, so please(kindly?) reply with your ideas on what might go wrong if these changes are applied. Thank you! Also I made a poll to see how many players agree with me.
