• Plans to enhance graphics?

Great game, I enjoy Rust a lot, and it has become my main game. My motto has always been gameplay over graphics, but are there any plans to improve the graphics? The game is still in alpha, but I think the look of the game is dated. The plain graphics are the only thing keeping my friends from getting this game. Are there any plans to increase the graphics by a large amount? Or are the player models and world basically finished product? I'll still try to get them to play this one.
Take a look on this : https://trello.com/b/lG8jtz6v/rust Also i'm pretty sure they do plan on reworking the textures and models.
The game is still in alpha, therefore nothing is finished. They need to finish the game aspect of it before fine tuning the graphics side. It's already been stated that they're (developers) bummed everyone has been turning the grass off to increase the FPS. I would look to them completing the game before optimizing the graphics. The entire reason for early access releases, is to help development with feedback and such. Tell your friends that for $20 they're getting a fun game now and investing in a great game in the future as $20 is all they'll pay right now. If they wait, odds are it will only go up in price as it nears completion.
I don't think the game looks dated really, I think it has the best graphics out of all the Survival sandbox games out there, (Dayz Standalone is decent but the actual gameplay isnt smooth)
I'm sure with higher resolution textures, with normals and parallax. And a more detailed world (current map is a placeholder IIRC), this game wouldn't look dated at all.
From the Trello there's already some improvements : https://trello.com/c/a6lgNVxk/242-construction-stages-for-wood-pieces-variants-to-limit-tiling https://trello.com/c/yZ9Ejlln/163-second-player-model-pass https://trello.com/c/7ELHIi42/239-decay-texture-mask-for-wood Can't wait to see that.

I had read it could be turned off for performance issues, but am i the only one who turns it off so i can see whats on the ground? its nice and all, but just a tad bit thick in my opinion. Probably not being used as intended, so maybe an option to reduce density down to a certain point
They need to improve the performance before even thinking about better graphics.

Didn't they have an old placeholder map a year ago?
