Hi Everyone & Devs,
Read lots of forums recently concerning VAC Banning etc. but most of them are quite vague on this topic... I know most overlays like TeamSpeak , mumble etc is safe to use.
Can the devs / community please inform me if one can get VAC banned using this software for ingame map overlay? Don't wanto try it out if there isn't a definite answer of admin / developer that its safe to use.

Again, I HAVE NOT USED this software and I am merely asking if it would be considered a hack or not.

or more correctly, if it injects into the rust.exe VAC will catch on most likely.
In my opinion its not a cheat its just an overlay of the map ingame for easier navigation seeing there isn't any map and coordinates have been taken away , and one cant really use the sun rise and sunset as a constant to find your way through the huge map...

MPGH isnt 100% for hacks.. they do modding n shit if im not mistaken too.
As for the overlay, i feel it could end up getting you in trouble in some way, but i personally dont see anything wrong with it, its the same as alt tabbing and using a map, as it doesnt add your location or anything. just saves you the trouble of alt tabbing. and removes the risk.

Well, the fact that he is registered on such a site is interesting, but until he gets VAC banned I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

While they do do alot of cheats, they also do graphics design n programming. its a great community for learning the basics. Sorry that you couldnt read the forum properly
And anyone using hacks from MPGH is a retard, public hacks are a surefire way to get banned lol(obviously hacking in general is.. but public hacks are usually detected within a day lol)

As someone majoring in computer science and minoring in graphics design, I can think of a million other communities that are way better for learning that shit. MPGH is a cheat and No-CD crack resource for most people, plain and simple.

Reverse engineering is a great skill in the field that you don't have and will never get without dipping into communities like this.
Back to the OP's original question though, I have asked it in the past as well regarding the map overlay with no answers... Is there any offical word on if this is safe or not?

You know that there is lots of alias that can be created in steam right ? I can guarantee you I'm not the one that you talking about , don't make false accusations... Futhermore I hate people that cheat in games... They must be stoned and pissed on their remains.

I think someday garry will add a map overlay to the game anyway. Until them let us keep shift tabbing.

After reading all the comments, I also agree Shift + Tab would be the safest route for now. I just thought it would be an awesome improvement ingame seeing that there isn't any means for navigation or even a compass to show you the way.

If in injects or hooks into the executable, which I think it most likely does (most overlays I know do), you will probably be banned.
