I assumed it was a version of the northern lights, I thought they were really pretty, I also think they should be left in the final game as something to look at.

and that produce a spectral electric storm underneath that just starts randomly zapping any and everything it can - almost as if an alien race bent on planetary extermination. Dont be under one of these bad boys

Yeah, I've seen this a bunch of times but no one can every explain what it is or supposed to be. :P

I've seen it in an orange / yellow color too. Pretty cool imo. Hope it stays in game. :D

I thought it was crazy when I first saw it. you really get into games and seeing that was so cool. If it is a bug ide rather they keep it as some kind of effect of radiation or an Aurora or something.
I just stopped in the middle of a field like a moron and watched it for like 3 minuets.
