Noticed a few people on the forums venting their frustration about how they are having trouble getting a foothold in the world of Rust. This is just a quick video showing how to gather the needed resources and build the basic necessities. Nothing fancy, but it might just help a few people.
sure on PVE server it works but in normal game 30 ppl doing same thing on the same area so they get shooted hatcheted stoned etc 100 times;) that`s why many ppl say that its hard to get anything:)

It'll work on the normal game once we have a larger map/multiple islands.
its just sad to see the newbs having open fires. i usually kill them so they know they should not do that around my lands :yarr:

btw does the playrust.net scores not update anymore? lists me as the 16th most evil man in the world :yarr:
This is a good video, but you have the steps wrong. The steps should be like this.
1. Get Wood, cloth and food.
2. Build shelter, door, sleeping bag, campfire and storage box (all in your shelter)
3. Get ore, and cloth.
4. Make pistol and cloth armor.
5. find a rad zone
6. kill zombies, or search houses in rad zone for blueprints, or a resarch kit + armor and weapons.
7. Learn stuff on the spot before someone has a chance to kill you.
8. When you hit 400-450 rads, run to a safe place outside the rad zone.
9. If you have already learned a metal door blueprint or have tons of gear you found, head back to your house to stash stuff then go back to rad zone until you learn how to make metal doors.
10. once you have learned metal door, you create a hatchet (or pickaxe if you found one or learned it in the rad zone) and get lots of ore and wood.
11. Start creating your fortress.
12.repeat steps 10 and 11 untill fortress is finished.

Its not so much a video to show the exact way of doing things. It was more for those that have no idea. Gives them an idea where to start (:
i find that the best way to get started is to find a gun in a town and kill anyone you see harvesting supplies :P
