Editing this as ideas come to me Been playing for 3 weeks and some ideas that have come to me to help balance the game or add a little variety. Add-on slots for Armor (Same as weapon slots): Steel Plates (+ bullet, melee, explosion protection) Helmet : Night Vision Goggles Composite Bow Upgrade Carbon Fiber Arrows + Metal Tips Security Systems (for Homes): If we could somehow install an app on our phone that notifies us if this is going on while logged out that would definitely make people think twice about breaking into homes, possible balance to the C4 overpowered system currently. Motion Sensors and Alarms (Warn you if someone is in your house via a pager or something you carry on your character) Advanced Motion Sensors can be placed within 100 feet of the Motion Sensor PC system, so you can put them in immediate areas near your base as well. Movement Speed +7% Boots (Extremely Rare Drop from chests at Rad Towns, .25% chance of finding) Adrenaline Shot +10% Speed Boost for 30 seconds Fishing added to the game: Fishing Rods: Wood Carbon Fiber Catch fish and low % chance of fishing up crude items (pipe shotgun, handmade shells, revolver, etc) Fish can be refined to create Mercury Mercury can be applied to arrows for poison effect (similar to bleeding) Smoke Bombs - Can use them when being fired upon to run away or use them during home invasions. Flash Bang Grenades - Useful for home invasions.
I kind of like the fishing idea.
I like the fishing ideas except for the mercury on weapons stuff though.

The only reason for offering this option is currently a headshot from a bolt action rifle is a 1 hit kill, even in full Kevlar. This would give the person as least a moment to try and run or heal and engage instead of being completely blindsided. Adding steel plates would fit well and add a whole new concept of addons for armor. Night Vision Goggles for Helmet for example.
But how is this random human going to learn how to craft this without dying of some poisoning
Poisoning from what? Are you referring to the Mercury thing? You'd need to make sand a gatherable item or glass available somehow. Then you'd just have to use that glass in the process. These are just random ideas, some better than others.
