The server is running fine, but player data isn't being saved, or loaded. So you can't join because of that, and everyone currently on will have a rollback of their inventory once the server is restarted.
From what I understand the login server is just down and everything is fine with the servers. Data will not be rolled back.

This has happened before, the login server is fine.
Well to me it says
"Yikes! There's no servers online!
We're sorry! We are probably working on it!"
