On my main server i play with 5 other people and we pretty much dominate it.
There is no challenge. So....
When we logged off last night i relogged in about 1 hour later.
I built a 2x1 house near split rad and filled it with large boxes.
I then returned to our base and killed everyone and took all their gear.
I took all our weapons, C4, food cloth...everything and put them into the little house i built.
I then announced to the whole server what i had done and that the door on the house is open and they can take what they wanted.
Surprisingly, the online players were very grateful and shared the contents between them.
I warned them not to tell my team :yarr:
This morning i got a few panicked calls, "WE WERE RAIDED, They took everything"
Now the game has turned and now when we build back up we will have fun raiding people at the same level as us.
Was this a really bad thing to do?
Good luck getting your clan (or anyone) to trust you now
Good luck getting your clan (or anyone) to trust you now
I will tell them i did it tonight when i get on.
I know my team, they will see the logic...I would only do this with people i know that would see the funny side of it. Plus they were complaining that the game was getting boring...so now it's not.
I say that it brings more fun, I've been there. Having the most power on the server. It gets realllllyyyy boring, I wish that I thought of something like that. I'd spark up some fun again getting more stuff back
I hate people like you. This was a team game and you acted alone.
I see Pillowcases filled with soap in your future

Ya they know the logic.
"Hey Carl, it is just hours of our time on this game wasted, no biggy."
It wont take long to build up again
We researched everything so we just need the matts
Our base is fully in-tacked.
We would have just wasted the time waiting on other players to build up as we don't KOS or kill people who are worse off than us.
Another psycho revealed himself during gameplay.
that wasnt really a raid so much as it was you robbing them blind and then opening doors for others to rob them blind.
I mean nobody was on to even defend it.....hardly a raid
I wouldn't trust you again. If you talked with your group ahead of time and they agreed then It would of been OK. But doing that behind their backs is a tell on who you are and who you care about. (You)
Is it really "raiding" when you have full access to everything?
no its not raiding >.>
its doing stuff behind your friends back
hmmm i will not trust you anymore then lol;p
you mean you raided your "ex-clan"
awww...:tinfoil:
Disgusting.
All decisions effecting a clan should be made by the clan not an individual that was bored one night and wanted to screw his team over. The idea might not have been bad in itself if you voted on it or whatever your structure is with leaders etc, but this was backstabbing and the reason I will never let an outsider in.
I am no outsider to my team...we do shit like this to each other all the time.
As i said before, i would never have done it if i didn't think they would find it funny.
Disgusting.
Seems like a slight overreaction...
It depends on who your friends are. I don't think it's a big deal in this case, I'd get some kicks out of it and my friends would be pissed but they'd play along, god knows they'll all just team up to take me down, which is totally legit.
So many people taking it all so seriously! :zoid:
Good on ya fk the haters
Omg I know you Rufus....KoS'ing SoB =P

Perfectly fine.... deception is always something that makes the game interesting.
When I first started playing, I raided a number of bases and then while they were all complaining that they got raided, I also said I was raided too, but not too badly as if they ran out of C4 or something. I then gave them all some stuff to help them out and eventually formed up my own group of about 5-6 players, even though I was the one who took all their stuff in the first place.
Another time there was a group of 8-9 bandits/KoS'ers who were causing trouble for other players. I was allied with another group of about 4-5 players and helped them out a bit when the bandits attacked them a few times.
I and another one from that group did a midnight attack on the bandit's base, blew a wall while they were cooking and smelting, ended up killing 6 of them (5 of them were by my own hands while the other guy provided support) but then I was stupid and decided to loot a backpack before the area was clear and got killed by the remaining guys. I then bragged on (in order to cause them to respond) about how I took them all out to the point of getting them to respond via text, which by that time I helped the other group get all their names and know who was a part of the bandit team.
However on that same server, I got a new player to ally with me who was constantly attacked by them to get into the group and be a member, while at the same time being a double agent for me, providing me with information from the teamspeak to avoid ambushes and how to lose them in the mountains when they came after me when I attacked again..... he also eventually provided me and the other group their passcodes for all their doors..... it got to the point where they were claiming I was a hacker and using ESP or something.
Eventually though, a lone hacker came onto the server and devastated them before we could use those passcodes and take their stuff..... then they all rage quit.
-------------------------------------------
Deception is part of the game and for all of those lynching this guy for what he did and saying it should have been a democratic discussion on whether or not it should happen.... that's just foolish talk.
Where would the fun and excitement be if you all decided to have this happen?
You'd all log off, one guy stayed behind and took the stuff and when you logged back in..... you'd already know what happened and there'd be no excitement or intrigue. There'd be no feeling of vulnerability.
Instead what would have happened was the entire group would have pulled some charity crap and look like nice guys to the rest of the server by handing out their stuff. People would still take it all, but the deception, enjoyment, challenge, etc. would have been lost in the process and the rest of the server wouldn't have found it as funny or enjoyable. There would have been something to work towards and more of a challenge of having more equipped guys to deal with, but it wouldn't have that "Ok, it's on!" feeling to it..... at least not as much.
Having one member of your group pull a stunt like this would be funny to me and add a bit of challenge. The fact that he would own up to what he did would be a forgivable offense and I would have probably done the same thing.
I just wouldn't have told anybody in the first place.
The alternative would have been to start over on a new server, IMO.
Once you "win" the server, there's not much point in playing anymore. If one of my group members did this, I'd be glad for the new challenge without having to switch servers.

His logic is sound and he basically gave his group something to do.
The Aftermath...
I was right, they found the humor in it.
They did KOS me a few times, but i expected that.
I done a resource run through resource valley to help with the rebuild and i had a few other guys on the server give me a tone of ore as a thanks.
After a hour were were back to were we were and all is good in the world.
Now we have some real competition on the server and the other members of the server have built some nice bases.
This is where you get crushed...lol

Haha, good result. BUT do they really trust you anymore?
Just wait till the next time a single piece of cloth goes missing....
Just kidding
lol you must be so sick , i could not life with the fact i betrayed my own team

Well...as the game is still in early Alpha, undergoing numerous wipes, bugs, patches, etc. technically every hour is a waste hour if you want to get down to the nitty gritty and quantify and account for every minute spent in Rust.
