My hfb server (San Jose) has been down since Tuesday with Status: Unknown.
Haven't had a single reply to my ticket #223799 from them regarding the problem. Not a single word on their server status page about it even though it's obviously a wide spread issue.
This type of service is unacceptable. If this is not resolved today there is no doubt that I am cancelling my service and eating this months fees.
It's astonishing that they claim 24/7 customer service yet cant reply to a ticket / email / tweet within 24 hours.
I would suggest that Facepunch drop them as a server provider.
EDIT: I finally get a reply on my ticket. What's the solution? Go submit another ticket through the billing portion of your account so we can verify you. Start the whole process over.
New ticket #640636
ive heard nothing but negative things from these guys.
We're in the same boat, sort of. We can get on our server and it responds, more or less. But you are unable to interact with anything. Doors, furnaces, storage boxes etc etc.
You can't even use the items in your hotbar. And yeah, we've heard zilch as well. Looking for a new host at this point.
That is exactly what happened when my server went down, it didn't kick everyone off - it just made it so you couldn't interact with anything as you describe. But as soon as you disconnect, the server is gone and unavailable.
Yeah, we can come and go all day long. We just can't do anything but try not peeing in the wind :p
Demand a refund from them, after my server was down for 7 days straight I got a refund. It unfortunately came to threats of making complaints to the BBB, FTC, and Ohio Attorney General (Where they're incorporated). Don't let these guys walk away with your money, demand it back. They are not providing a service you paid for in good faith, they should not keep your money from it.
Adding on to Cable's post:
Luckily, we're at the end of the month, so a refund isn't necessary. Just glad this happened today and not tomorrow or we'd be on the hook for another month, or at least have the hassle of haggling over the refund.
I know these hosts are getting hammered with tickets from all directions. FP really needs to open their model up to at least a few more hosts so it isn't such a huge bottleneck. I mean there are about four thousand servers being run on maybe 7 hosts.
But still, that isn't the server renters' problem.
