I have well over a thousand hours of rust and I am pleased with the path the game is going in! That said, the helicopter is the "main event" that everyone talks about; however, its really not that great of a Boss pr whatever.
The helicopter will come after starters who have no chance over the heli, but the stacked players do? People with high end guns and fancy ass compounds can easily take out the heli, and after that they get free loot from starters that try to snag some crates!
What I'm trying to get at is people who have everything get more, and the poor get shit on. (Rich get richer and the poor stay poor)
Please replace the heli with a better NPC boss.... or add variety to hostile NPC, cause asides bears + wolves; there really aint much.

a handful is far less than hundreds. and hundreds are far less than thousands described in the other thread by another poster. unfounded statements such as "everyone is experiencing it" are actually pretty destructive to figuring out what is going on; unless you have proof of the hundreds, maybe just say "i'm experiencing this, and have seen a few threads with others experiencing the same" instead of fear-mongering.

Yes, the current heli isn't good for the game. A mechanic that only rewards veteran and endgame players, while punishing new players or player who start new, is a worst case for a multiplayer game.

Rusts need more NPC events and challenges, dead player bodies could turn into zombies, more wild animals, anything that turns the attention off the new spawn and add more pressure in the environment.
I never said a thousand players were expierencing the error. Infact I knew that there were hundreds of people that expierenced that error. There were a handful of players on my friends list (including myself) that had this problem. I do not care about that dumbass that said there were thousands of hopeless people... He must have been exaggerating or not researching; either way why the crap does it matter

Well the lower class cant compete with their higher ups, therefore they physically cant work for the loot (in Rust that is).

Someone should start a series on raiding large clans and giving it to starters.
If only there was a way to tell when the helicopter was coming, then newmans could hide from it before it spotted them. They should totally add sounds to the helicopter...

At default the heli is not really in my opinion challenging enough. Even two players with positioned towers were taking it down in a few minutes. That is why on my server i have increased damage done with also greater accuracy. It isn't so easy for the the big clans now but much more challenging.

I think the Heli is a huge boon to newmans. While they may not be getting the loot they benefit greatly from all the geared guys having to put their guns away for a minute. That brief reprieve from all the KOSing we all know and love can be really handy for a naked who just wants to gather some BPs without being killed for his meat.
There's been no small number of times when the Heli has saved me from other players and once when it helped me raid a base.
