• MAJOR Suggestion: Playing with friends easier

Ok so I'm always trying to play with my friends and it is SOOOOO hard to find them! We follow the sun and we try everything we can and right when we do find each other after an hour, someone dies of starvation or something else. My suggestion? Suggestion: Be able to join clans with your friends and ADD A MAP and be able to see where your friends are and where you are but NOT OTHER PEOPLE UNLESS THEY JOIN TEAM/CLAN! We need Facepunch to read this guys!!!
They are not adding this to the game. It has already been stated. If you guys want to stay close why not just make a bed?

For now, Use the map on the rust wiki for reference points and land marks to find eachother, a party/buddy system does need to be in place so we can see each others name from 300-400 meters away or something like that would work, as long as they keep in friendly fire.
the start to the game is the hardest part!!! The way we did it (3 of us) is to find the road (or somewhere you recognize). Then die a lot until you all find the road (which is a circle). Keep re-spawning until you can all get close to each other. You could also just ask the admins lol, on a modded server (i think they can teleport people). Hope that helps until they change it F1 into the console and type in suicide to die faster :P
If you are starving when you meet each other, you should try prioritizing eating first. Each of you will start alone and on your own you should be able to get enough wood and stone to make a stone hatchet, then use that to kill a boar or two. Cook the food, eat, and then set out to find each other. Agree on a landmark and as soon as any one of you gets there make sure you craft a sleeping bag ASAP and throw it down behind a rock somewhere. This should be okay for a temporary place to make sure you all spawn together. Then you should all gather up enough wood for a small house in a hidden spot and move your bags into that.

The start is easily the hardest part, try getting the basics going, gather some stuff to make a hatchet and maybe build a rudimentary shelter for the night, then set out with food and basic supplies in the morning to find eachother. Although it tends to be more dangerous, sticking to the road and meeting up near a specific town or other pre-built landmark would be the easiest.
Spend 24 hours wandering the map like most ppl and you can easily figure out where you are at all times

Go into a PVE server, learn the map, it's really not that large.
I wholeheartedly agree that it's a bitch to find a friend when you guys are first starting a map (now, I haven't memorized the entire damn world... but some day perhaps)... I'm a FF/EMT, so I don't really have that kind of time (This really is a shitty game for the profession since you have to drop-everything-and-go) but I love it regardless. I agree however that a party system would be excellent. No, we don't need FF off on our friends - no, we don't need team-VOIP cross-map, etc... What we REALLY need is to be able to either: 1.) Place colored smoke signals (beacons - like Planetside 2 guild beacons, for example) or 2.) See you party member's name from far away (would also help with confusion during large scale firefights) It took my brother almost two hours to get a spawn near my location and finally locate my base... - but from then on we've been basing together and have beds set so we can respawn. The thing though is that it shouldn't take 1+ hours to figure out where the fuck your friend went after someone raids you overnight and destroys your beds - it sucks enough to rebuild all of your stuff. Anyways, back on topic: I agree wholeheartedly. We need something.
