Invisible players hacking on rust default servers. - Rust

I have been getting allot of complaints of invisible players hacking on servers. Anyone else seeing or hearing about this? also players in god mode wtf is going on?

It seems perhaps lag can cause that, as we had a situation where we were being hit by a guy who was phasing in and out of visibility. It didn't seem like a hacker, but there was lag at the time, so we chalked it up to lag.

there are issues with the current release of the game that make a person completely invisible. I've both been the invisible man and been killed by him before. You dont even make footstep sounds..

I once broke into a guys 2 by 1 house. Some other guy jumped down into it while I was looting and I finished him off promptly. I found the key to the door in a box and sealed the ceiling. Then after using his furnace to cook for a couple minutes, I suddenly started to see a dust trail following me around like a player was smacking the ground and walls from inside at my feet. It stopped after a couple minutes and it then took my hatchet and key out of my inventory and left without opening the door. Any ideas?

I would guess he placed his sleeping bag under the foundation and spawned in the foundation instead of on top of it.

might be related, some of the large trees have a visual model, but no physics model (ie can be walked through, can't be hit).

Yeah I had fun trying to find a guy yesterday, "I am right here!!!" he kept saying :D

Experienced the same and had nothing to do with lag. I was trying to play with a friend, but I couldn't see him. He was there, but completely invisible for me.

I have experience players and animals freezing, then disappearing and reappearing in a different location, but I put this down to server lag. What you are experiencing sounds like something different.

This happened to me again last night, invisible guy round my house that did not know he was invisible.

This might be happening more often but my friend and i noticed this happening nearly a month ago. He was in our house and about to let me in when he said watch out for that guy. i turned around and saw no one. he kept insisting there was another guy outside our home. He told me the guy started running away in the direction of another house so i went after him.. he said we were literally standing within arms length of each other at times yet i never saw him. he took a screen shot to prove it, sure enough there was another player right near me. I think it was safe to say the other guy could not see me either because my friend said his actions never really reflected that of a person who had another player running around them swinging weapons (as i was doing)

had an invisible guy slaughtering everyone in the area i was building in last night. even with several of armed with guns and full armor, he killed us all. and he knew he was invisible, because his spear would only come out right before it went through our head.

I AM Seeing GOD mode players also wtf?

I was apparently invisible earlier - but it was after a guy teleported to me. He couldn't see me or my torch, but I could see him. When he reconnected, he could see me.

oh, its the ghosting glitch again. the one where when you die, but you keep playing at 0 hp, and can sort of interact with things. something to do with the death cycle not completing, so you don't have a body anymore.

They were lootable, but not damageable due to every hit I swung hit an invisible surface(I guess the hitbox for the cave) before hitting them. At the entrance, I could actually make marks in the air with a spear strike where this hitbox began. Is it like this for all caves?
