Hi, I'm just wondering the intervals for server wipes. I heard from others its every week on a Friday. Can anyone tell me the actual interval. And also, I know this is alpha but is possible for them get save files like Dayz servers so every time the server gets a update the players don't lose everything?
They wipe the servers when ever it's needed to.
Wipe, yes you lose everything. But we have no idea when they're coming. There is no set schedule, usually after a big update or a particularly bad case of exploits.
But can't they have save files to restore from? They going to have to consider that in the future when the actual game comes out anyways... Perhaps its too early :/
Hopefully they'll wipe soon.It's fun starting over again,not every week though,but yeah.
If they were to restore save files after say.. a rash of duppers.. then what was the point of the wipe? They would still have all the stuff they duped.. doesnt matter if they cant do it anymore. When a wipe happens, the devs do it for a good reason and keep silent before it happens more often than not.
You need to adjust your expectations for this game in its current state of development. You are expecting, literally, too much.

Wipes don't happen with new updates because they CAN'T preserve the server data. They do it to intentionally reset the server environment for any number of reasons. You could see it in the most recent patch that added fall damage where people who hadn't bothered to log out yet didn't have the fall damage patch and the servers were all still up.
The wipes are just something you're going to have to live with.
ye wipes are understandable, but rollbacks cause there' re no server saves when it server crash, is kinda gay. moreover it just happened since this week, hope they'll fix it.

No, it would be a terrible idea to have save files.
The point of a reset is to make change. They need a clear start after the change. Especially in cases when exploits were fixed (which is most of the time).
