When I try to launch Rust from Steam nothing happens. Every now and then their exit ad pops up as if I left the game.
Here is what I have tried to fix it:
Uninstall/Reinstall
Delete appcache
Delete depotcache
Reinstall steam
Set Beta to: Opt out, staging, dev
Run Steam as admin
Nothing has worked.
Windows 8.0
System specs, please?
AMD FX-8150 (FD8150FRGUBOX) air cooled
Crosshair V Forumula Motherboard
Corsair Dominator 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory (CMP16GX3M2X1866C9)
HIS IceQ X Turbo Radeon HD 6950
300 GB WD RaptorX
500 GB external WD Passport always hooked up to USB 3.0
Some cheap-o DVD drive.
All drivers up to date including CAT's. Rust ran fine on Windows 8.1 on this same system. I had to downgrade due to Asus driver issues causing a random IRQ_NOT_EQUAL crash in Windows 8.1 (Asus has yet to fix the issue with Microsoft or post fixed drivers on their website). The downgrade was a full format and Windows re-install.
Not getting any error at all is the most odd thing about this issue. Nothing happens at all on load. The only other problem I have is when loading 4 GB or larger videos into Windows Movie Maker which causes my computer to bog down and/or WMM to lock up and crash (sometimes, not always!). Outside of that all other games work great (this includes Darkfall which is programmed so badly any system issue would make it screw up too!).
Post the log file please
Where do I find that?
In here
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\rust\
Should be somewhere in there, cant remember off the top of my head.
