Fourth crash, dead on wakeup every time, have to reboot my computer. This never happened until last night after the update that fixed the memory leak. Any ideas?
Well all I can say is the memory leak hasn't been fixed. Played 10 minutes maxed out at 97% memory usage, Rust using 5.6Gb out of 8 before it died.
you can always try the basic stuff like: Windows updates, driver updates(Driver Booster very good software to use), start-> msconfig -> boot -> remove useless programs which may cause crashes, run game as administration

Same issue here since yesterday's update.
I'll exit the game, and sometimes every app I try to open fails to load.
I then restart the PC and it sits there saying it's logging off.
Lost patience and restarted by holding the power button, but it's happened a few times now.
Is there a way to forcefully unload EAC, or check if it's still running?
Having the same exact issue as the OP! Hard lock on wake, and explorer.exe and all other processes unable to respond after I terminate rest in task manager, it won't even let me start google chrome.

i'm having the same issue with the same card the GTX 970 and i'm also having a popup that said i don't have enuf memory :s 8GB of RAM choud be enuf i guesse i crash about 100 times in the last week i realy need some help it's making me go mad

Are you getting those when you crash, or when apps are trying to load? Because I'm getting no such errors. In fact, my memory doesn't even spike. My computer just becomes non-responsive and eventually you see it working away at nothing, meanwhile RAM and CPU don't seem to spike dramatically.
Can't even open Firefox. I've never had any of my computers have an issue like this after exiting a game. I know that it is what it is, but I'm trying to avoid hard resetting my PC every single time I launch rust.

Funny, I thought it was going to be an NVIDIA-related issue.
I rolled back drivers to the previous ones, and it worked with both versions of the driver before that loop crash a few days ago. But, baccre, when you say "Me too.", do you mean that you are also having my [I]specific[/I] issue or the out of memory errors as the above post?
Edit: Another person already mentioned he had an AMD video card before that too. I didn't read in that far.

I found out by temporarily disabling AVG free 2015 I can now spawn after wake.
FIX just set an exception for your rust folder for your anti virus. Tested and works! might have something to do with the new anti cheat messing with resident shield in my anti virus

Even with my antiviruses disabled, it doesn't fix this issue.
When I close it, all applications register as 32-bit processes (as opposed to the standard 64-bit processes) but never launch. Still hard-resetting my computer every time I stop playing. Would be nice to not have to, being that this game makes me rage every time I play it. Anybody know of a fix yet? :P
Ive tried enabling rust as administer in capability mode, and running dx9 with it, so far no hard freezes. yeah I had it freeze before even with the anti virus settings. I just forgot to post again that it failed me.
I have the same Problem, my PC slow down sometimes and i cant open any programm and my pc want shutdown.
Also sometimes an DOS BOX Window popup for a half second ingame.
My other Problem dont comes anymore (i hope), but 2 updates before i think, my PC go everytime from self to Desktop, when i played Rust.
