• [BUG] Building physics needs lots of work, stability issues

Greetings, I have checked out the state of the game after a year, where I still played with legacy version. Now I think after 1,5 year the game got back to the level where legacy was left off, so we are on the right track. I wanted to voice a current issue, which is very important to fix siege gameplay mechanics. I saw that the current trend is toward building or "exploiting" giant high-tower buildings, where there is a so called lift, which disallows raiders to enter the higher floors. This creates a kind of stalemate, where the only way to siege is to produce tons of c4 to demolish the walls, which kind of makes the game into a grindig rpg style. The solution would be very easy to bring some kind of balance into sieges, and disallow exploiting building mechanics. Just please try to upgrade the building physics system to calculate with loads and weights. Because now if you have a giant (for example 20x20 foundation, 6 -7 levels) hightower, you can enter the ground floor, but destroying the pillars on the ground floor does have absolutely no effect on the integrity of the tower, while in reality of course it would collapse. This allows exploitation of the building system to build semi-levitating towers, where people can "lift" up, and with building cabinets block any way to enter the upper floors. This produces a kind of really no-brainer endame, with giant rude exploit towers disfiguring game design, and hours of brainless grinding for explosives. I bet this is not the goal of the game design. Thank you.
Like it has been said in a dozen topics: The tower will collapse when the server recalculates the stability. Unless the server is running with stability checks disabled. And you want there goods... Rockets are your friend now. You simply rock there floors and the loot WILL fall down. If somebody build a 20x20, 6 or 7 level tower. Do you have any clue how much resources and time go into a structure like that? I frankly start to hate it when people complain how much time it takes to make C4/rocket but they forget that the buildings they damage or destroy also take massive amounts of time to make. The reason why a lot of people resort to semi exploits is because its so freaking easy to break into buildings, that a lot of people go to sleep and wake up with there base raided or destroyed every day. Unless you build in the middle of nowhere. You are one of those people who wants people to constantly build bases, gather resources, fill up there chests, so you can have the fun of raiding them and set them back to sometimes zero again and again. The game developers are already very, VERY pro-raiding. I sure as hell did not hear the raiders complain when the resource costs for armored walls sky rocketed with 2.5 times! And it only takes 3 C4 to destroy. Rock ( 300 stone, no processing time ): 2 C4 Armored ( 500 metal, 400 stone, 300 wood ): 3 C4 Great balance! And do the math for a 20x20 building. You can focus on penetrating a building by blowing first the outer wall ( 20 ), this takes 2 or 3C4. But then your C4 costs already drops because the blast damage damages the walls behind it. So your down to 1 or 2 C4. If anybody wants to armor up, we are talking 9 pieces that need to be upgraded, just for one 1x1 section block ( not counting the initial outer part ). Do that for 20x20 ( one single wall layer ). Do that for 19x19. Now for 18x18.... 1x1. AND NOW start doing that for all the floors up. *grumbles* ... You think your mindless grinding for C4/Rockets? Want to see our mindless hunting for resources, melting, freaking tree cutting until you deforest half the server! Then talk to mindless grinding just to build a base that has a 80 or 90% change every day to get raided.
This specifically applies to modded servers with resource multiplier, where building armored bases takes less time than vanilla servers. Nonetheless, it's nearly impossible to take down a multiple story base if there is no access to higher floors (a player builds twig blocks and shoots them down). Unless you're raiding with 50 rockets, there's no way to access floors higher than the 3rd one. And yeah, the base doesn't have to be more than 5x5
