• Important question about VAC

Hi. I wanna redeem my steam version of Rust, but I'm not sure if I'll be banned or not? I just read this below my unique redeem key:
"By the way - don't cheat on Steam because you will be VAC banned.. and you won't be able to play. And we won't give you your money back. This is your warning"
Now, what I don't really understand is. Do they mean ANY game? Like.. you can't play if you're VAC banned in CS:S or CoD? Every answer is much appreciated :)
VAC Enabled Games Please see the Steam Store Valve Anti Cheat Enabled search term. Valve games The Valve Anti-Cheat system is enabled for servers displaying the Secured shield logo. Using custom skins, sounds or maps and playing multi-player mods which do not modify core .EXE and .DLL files will not result in a VAC ban Cheating in one of the following Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list and your items from Team Fortress 2 will be removed except any items that have been purchased: Counter-Strike: Source Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Day of Defeat: Source Team Fortress 2 Cheating in one of the following Gold Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list: Counter-Strike Condition Zero Ricochet Day of Defeat Team Fortress Classic Half-Life: Deathmatch Deathmatch Classic Note: Excluding the games listed above, VAC bans will only apply to the game the cheat was detected in. For example, a VAC ban in Modern Warfare 2 will not affect Modern Warfare 3.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/864975399717486951/ Im unsure if Rust will be a Global VAC ban in addition to the ones on that list.

Most of Rust's servers use Steam's VAC (Valve anti cheat) anti-hack, if you cheat, you're probably going to get banned, if you're banned by VAC, you won't be able to play any VAC protected servers, no matter what game, if the server on CoD has VAC, you're banned, if the CS:S server uses VAC, you're banned. Basically, VAC is good, cheat and regret.

Just don't cheat and you won't get banned.
Well.. I'm VAC banned in CS:S and I can still play Rust. And no, I'm not a cheater. I got VAC banned 1688 days ago, at that time a was a child.

And using a second account is just a cop out and proves that you have cheated in the past. There should be no reason why you should be worried, unless you are a cheater.
