I've been thinking that a forward grip on the longer weapons would be a great addition. Any other ideas?

If its purpose would be to reduce recoil/weapon sway, I think it'd be detrimental to gameplay, making M4/BAR super over-powered. But I could be wrong.
In the spirit of handmade/rustic weapon mods, I think it'd be kinda neat to have a little glass bottle jerryrigged scope, nothing super long range, probably same magnification as the holo sight, but just as a better fitting sight for the BAR.
Extended Mags... That would be a great mods. Reloading gets you killed ;)

no a grip is for controlling kickback it would be fine in rust
Would reducing kickback not reduce weapon sway, etc? Or would it just increase fire rate?
it would control how far the the weapon would recoil
And isn't the weapon recoiling while firing what contributes to weapon sway? I'm not super familiar with gun terms but this was my understanding...
As far as I know, sway is when you're aiming and you can't hold the gun straight. Because your arms/hands are moving 'n' stuff.
Recoil is the blowback you get from the energy leaving the barrel.

So how is recoil portrayed in game then? Would the forward grip help with like... recovering your aiming stance between shotgun shots and stuff, as opposed to it tipping up, etc?
Exactly. The tipping up of the gun after every shot would be reduced.
What could reduce sway is crouch/prone. Maybe we get a bipod, that would reduce the sway nearly entirely. Or bags filled with sand/whatever for your windows or roofs.
Gotcha. Sorry for the confusion.
No need to be sorry. One can't know every goddamn thing.
bayonet - for when you want to fuck up a pigs day without wasting any ammo
improvised scope - made from half of a pair of old binoculars with a chip in the centre to mark the crosshair, this is rust after all so its not like you'd be finding any top quality tactical scopes lying around
revolving pipe shotgun - a 4 round cylinder addon for the pipe shotgun to increase rate of fire (but only for 4 shots, then you have to reload that sucker)
weatherproofing kit - increases the weapons durability
obrez barrel - a shorter barrel for the bolt action rifle that increases damage (i know it would actually reduce damage in real life, its for gameplay so deal with it) and bolt cycle speed at the expense of accuracy and making it even louder than it already is
twin mag - 2 mags tied together with a strip of leather, faster reload speed for the first reload but slower for the second reload when you have to take the whole thing out and replace it
overpressure mod - increases the range and damage output of a weapon at the expense of less durability and more brutal recoil
cooling shroud - a straight increase to rate of fire but you have to deal with the extra recoil and poorer ammo efficiency that this mod can create on some guns
tight choke - tightens up the spread of a shotgun so it can hit targets at longer ranges at the expense of a drop in overall damage per shot
boomshot - combine an F1 grenade with an arrow to create a remotely delivered explosive, has much less range than a regular arrow and can be difficult to judge your shot correctly in the heat of a firefight
hollow point rounds - your gun has a higher chance of inflicting bleeding and even injury status effects but becomes less effective against armor (full kevlar will reduce damage from hollowpoints by 60-70% instead of the usual 40%)
underslung handcanon/pipeshotgun
bayonet +1
bipod
once they sort our magazines I would like the double magazine.
Why are people trying to turn this into a Battlefield game?
before we get more mods I would like more guns :V

I agree, I would like to see more along the lines of more structures, traps, defense, and what not. Make more use for stone other than a hatchet and furnace. Maybe stone structure. Otherwise it just turns each server into whoever gets on first and can find the biggest and baddest gun.
We need a loudener for guns, saw the idea suggested in a Simpsons episode a long time ago. Would be cool to scare the shit out of people/increase gun sound radius.
Do we need to talk about things in order of priority ??
ok guys lets only talk about bugs until they all get fixed...then we can discuss housing before moving onto guns.
gunplay so far is very fun and fundamental in rust tho :V
