Asking for the Serverfiles - Rust

Hi :) Yes, its Alpha. I want them anyway. The piracy guys yet have them and it sucks to be on disadvantage for being a legit customer. Also, I yet have my own servers, stable and build from scratch, ready to host the games I like. I dont see any reason to buy some managed server at rusthost_xyz. Please Garry, finally free the serverfiles.

Here's the reason: garry isn't ready for those files to be public and for hundreds of GSPs to have to update every time he pushes out a patch. Your selfish impatience is not justified by the fact that pirating cunts are pirates. Come back in a year.

The "I'm at a disadvantage to pirates" thing works for DRM, but this is not the situation where it applies.

Its less than £8 a month for a 50 slot server just rent one.

A large list of filechanges is common for updates. Traffic is not an issue since almost a decade. You did not point out a single reason, instead you were just offensive.

And the only people who are playing on those servers are people pirating the game and people who have been banned from the game for cheating and most of those people probably fall into both categories.

"Pirated" word has no meaning for OP i guess,those server files just got stolen or ripped off from somewhere.That does not mean you should have them too.Cracked servers got no protection,got no stability,got no frequent update,their admins are far away from the knowledge of technical issues. So why the hell,you just wanna host your own server of a game which is not finished,it's not even Beta.What you gonna do if your server starts to crash after several minutes,these forums will crowd with technical issues and cryings in the first place. Game is unoptimized,that means game has client and server side problems too,what kind of hardware you use,it won't matter,if your software can't take full advantages of that,your hardware will be a piece of junk.

Entire new GSP's are popping up using them and Facepunch is either ignorant or simply doesnt care.

If they wanted to lock down the server files than they can always come up with a method to refuse connection to steam for the pirated servers or any other number of theoretical solutions. I would have assumed garry was concerned with such things as he seems very adamant about not releasing the files in the first place. I would hope he gets some kind of royalties or something from the GSP's that host rust, so this could even be money coming out of his pocket. Well, I haven't heard of cracked servers showing up in the server lists on Steam. In fact the ones I have seen are specifically advertised as non-Steam. If they are showing up on Steam they would probably be difficult to connect to due to the majority of Steam players having auto updates enabled. If that is true, a server patch would probably fix that.

there are 2 new "gsp's" being advertised now that are not authorized. I checked the sites no mention of the servers being non-steam.

Talking about what they are doing bad and they still doing bad. Good start, bad finish. Hostingrust.ru Worthless provider who does not even servers in locations listed in the wiki. They have only domestic provider rack. And then there are 100 slots hlamnyh. 4 days customers can not get to the Bartered services. Well, just such policies of companies such means. Glory overshadows reality.

I'd also be wary of forking over your CC information to illicit providers like that.
