So last night, after days of harvesting between six people, the gaming clan I'm a part of had finally gathered enough wood to build our ultimate dream base. In all we had several thousand planks ready to go, of which all were on my person. On my way to where we intended to build something minor came up so I threw up a shelter in a far off corner away from everyone and everything, stuck a wooden door up because I was 40 fragments short for a metal door, and quickly logged. Came back an hour later re spawned at a random location.... So tell me, has anyone screwed up worse?
thanks for the wood. was ez. gg
I'm sure that wasn't you. And if it was rest assured I'll be coming for you to make sure you never have another moment of peace unless you change servers.

and trollin' for no reason. typical asshat
why to not trust any one:v:
Wow, ouch, yeah never screwed up quite that bad. I felt like a right fool when I went with some allies to help defend against a raid assaulting a neighbors base, but we didn't see any action in Silk Valley so we decided to head back to Resource Valley. I got separated from my allies, and tried to use non-unique rock formations as landmarks to get home and wound up finding the road. Thinking that I was just north of Little Rad I followed it until I realized I was in fact south of Big Rad, but rather than the problem of navigating my way back home arising at that point some kind gentlemen relieved me of my belongings and left my corpse to fester on the asphalt. Of course, I only lost a full suit of kevlar and an MP5, but I have ventured out onto the front lawn to build something without anyone watching over me from the roof of my building and realized I had a stack of 250 planks or something like that and had to pop back in to stash them, so I can imagine how annoying losing all of those mats must have been. If it's any consolation a metal door would have just taken them twice as long, beating down the shelter itself rather than a wooden door (unless you built a 1x1 building on a foundation).
It was a 1x1 :-(
It was a 1x1 :-(
A shelter might have been more safe. A 1x1 with a wooden door just screams raid me. A 1x1 says that the person that put it there has spend some resources to put it there and probably is stockpiling to build up a bit. A shelter on the other hand that had no crates or furnace in it looks less inviting as it's probably some guy just starting out and probably not worth the time to break in for some raw chicken. Of course someone will break in eventually but I find more people will pass over a shack than a 1x1.
My biggest make I've made so far in Rust is spending like two hours straight gathering starting around 4am (usually when I start my day) and around 6am I stepped away to change a load of laundry. I come back being in my hut and a fading chat message saying, "AFK noob" *sigh* I don't know why I play these games where you can lose everything you've earned in a blink of an eye. Oh yeah, cuz it's freakin intense!
I agree about the shelter vs the 1x1 entirely. The only reason I built it was so it wouldn't be gone in the morning. Definitely a lesson learned.
my biggest mistake: Doesnt shot a player instantly down on sight contact
Run to the airdrop and run back to your unfinished base while kevlar guys are chasing you.
i believe people when they cry in micro dont kill me please, the next moment they use their shotgun. im an idiot.
Raging on chat with the suicide hackers on UK4. The next time I logged in on UK4 I suicided 17 times in a row.
I play with my brother quite a bit. We had one confusing escapade, and after some talking we finally figured out what had actually happened. I had logged on and appeared in our base in a mountain not too far from south hacker valley. I started a steam chat and asked him where he was. He said he was down in the valley grabbing resources. It is worth mentioning that he had a pipe shotgun and I had a basic pistol at this stage. "Oh shit, someone is coming. Two of them!" I hear him say. "I'm running towards you." So I dump all the resources I was using, make sure I have some bullets and run out to find him. As I hit the field I spot someone running towards me. "Is that you?" "I'm jumping" "OK, thats you. There are two guys behind you." At this point the guys stopped and we stopped and faced them. There was a 1x1 building nearby and some animals and trees but mostly open. I watched the closer guy through my sights for a while and he started running towards us. So I popped him and he went down. Looking around, the other guy was now nowhere to be seen. So we walk up to the body and I start searching. Nothing major but some resources and other useful stuff. I hear my brother go "watch out!" and tab out of the loot. I look up in time to see someone firing a shotgun right at me which clips me and I start bleeding. So I pop some shots off and drop that guy too. So, knowing that both threats were clear I start searching bodies again. I hear footsteps and assume it is my brother. Just as I hear my brother going "I'm dead, bro" I am killed from behind by a rock and we both find ourselves in our base naked. "Was there three guys? did that guy have a sleeping bag nearby?" We debated about this for 15 minutes until we realised. When I was searching the first guy, the second guy had snuck around behind me with a rock. My brother had tried to shoot him before he clocked me, but I had looked up and shot my brother dead. The rock guy then killed me. All in the space of several seconds. So it was a lucky day for rock guy. He watched one armed enemy shoot his ally then killed him too.
I have to admit the only stupid thing I do in Rust is going back to the same server and thinking it will get better.......... I am so sick of being the shotgun supply guy for exploiters.
My biggest mistake was to start a base (and subsequently form a group) with a fifteen year old and a seventeen year old boys. They see Rust as a "new age CounterStrike" and go around killing people who just started in the server, raging in the serverchat, and yelling to each other in Steam Voice Chat. P.S. God bless Steam Voice Chat

My biggest mistake? Not anti-griefing small base after a server wipe.
Trusting a russian.

Trusting two guys who I had been in a skype call for 8 hours and gone on several raids, helped them, let them research shit including (explosives), make them a house, add them on steam. To have been raided by them when I left :| . They then deleted me on skype and steam and never seen them since xD

My biggest mistake was shooting a guy right outside my rock and missing. a few hours later all the stuff in my rock was gone xD
Man, why u suicide so often? :)
After rage comes... depression :(
I just finished gathering a bunch of resources when some guy runs up behind and says "Hey you stop!" I am near my 1x1 with a metal door and think to myself "Hell no, this guy is going to kill me and take all my hard work" So I run to my hut and open the door and unable to close it quickly enough, to not allow him inside. Well, he ends up inside with me and kills me dead. I respawn outside knowing he will just kill me again, and I run back to my hut. He is trapped inside and I start laughing at him. He threatens to destroy all my stuff etc.. I am like " No way am I letting you out". I feel happy that at least ( if I do lose everything) that this asshat will also not get any benefit. *Move forward about a half hour* Someone shows up and asks whats going on and I explain. He tells me that he hates raiders and has some friends that he can get to help me. He does. The plan is to open the door and kill the guy and get all my stuff back. We are being very discreet so not to let the raider inside know what s going on. So we all set up, I open the door and one of the guys outside shoots me dead and they all loot my place and run off. I am now naked and have nothing but an empty hut...lol, Only thing I could say was "nice..very nice" Moral to this story? There isnt one.
My biggest mistake happened today, I was on a French server, killing every kevlar and neighbours I could, anyway it doesn't matters. I killed 3 kevlar, killed some guys with bolt, M4 etc, I put every shit in a 1x1 well-hidden, on the server there was a plugin when you write /remove, you can destroy every structures put down, so I tried it by destroy a camp fire, it hit twice my friend with pickaxe, he's dead.. nice you'll say! I hit the foundation, DAMN IT, EVERY DAMN BOXES ARE FUCK**G GONE! I lost 3 full kevlar, 6M4's, 4Bolt's; MP5, resources, etc... I was playing on this server for about 1 day.
missed a spot for pillars outside my base, someone used barricade pillar glitch and blew into my storage room, lost insane amount of kev, full large storage box full of ammo, guns, all metal structures, ton of LQM, explosives, +++ Also I cant count the times I have been farming in hacker/metal valley and someone caps me after like an hour + of farming.. I usually make pit stops now to drop off my mats before I have 250 of each ore and like 11 stacks of wood..
My biggest mistakes are usually not dropping off resources when farming frequent enough as its a time kill, but then I get rolled and loose it all :( That and when in a fire fight, I always seem to think I can out gun the guy instead of falling back to more strategic positions. I'm starting to get better at this, but the number of times I've been flanked and or shot in the head while trying to line up my shot is maddening.
i found a good sever if anyone wants to join ..119.252.190.249:29505
