So rust is constantly crashing on my PC. It is random. sometimes i just get into a game and then it crashes or sometimes i play for about an hour and then a crash. it happens very often and i dont know what to do. it starts of with me freezing and then i cant do anything untill the Unity send report shows up. The Nvidia driver also tells me that it crashed and successfully recovered. I juts refresh the browser and hope that it will not crash again anytime soon. Also sometimes driver does not update and the whole screen turns red or green or some colour and i cannot do anything but restart the PC.
i got intel i5 processor, 660ti card with 320.49 driver installed (i tried installing different driver but it didnt fix the problem).8 gb ram.
is it just me or people are also getting this? I tried googling it but nothing comes up
If you have any ideas how to fix it i will be very grateful.

lol.... this guy....
You didnt tell me what the problem is :S
Did you Overclock your card? If yes: Reset OC. If no: Factory OC? downclock to stock
Otherwise, try differend browser, reinstall drivers, reinstall Unity player and so on...
I did not overclock video card
I tried different browser
I reinstalled a driver/ tried switching to a "proven" driver
ill try reinstalling unity player and ill see what happens. hopefully it will help
Well let me try to help you:)
First of all the Standart Questions:
Installed VCRedist?(2010,2011 etc.)?
Installed .NET Framework 3.5 and 4?
Updated DirectX?
Tried Reinstall Unity?
You can also try to clear the Unity Cache just follow this link http://webplayer.unity3d.com/setup/ it will show your local Cache and you can delete it then upon launching Rust it should redownload the files needed.
Same thing happened to me, turns out it was a corrupt memory issue.
The 320 driver's are known to cause issue's I've even heard of some people damaging their cards. I would revert to an earlier driver that was made for the 600 series. Your using driver's that are pretty much made for the 700 series fyi. I'm using 304.79 for my 680 lightnings and I'm running stable with a 1380mhz overclock. Those driver's are the issue I'm telling you, especially if they are crashing all the time.
Well... So far so good. The problem apparently was the AdBlock. I disabled it and the game runs smoothly. Thanks to Zoeyyy
Least you have rust :(
-snip
I'm honestly not 100% sure what's in my computer. But I can player Skyrim, CoD, SC2, WoW, and such on ultra, does that sound good?
Nope. Thats some bullshit. it keeps crashing on everything. i tried different browsers, reinstalled directX, reisntalled Unity, Reinstalled and tried another nvidia driver, runned as an admin but nothing helps. I noticed that it crashes more often on higher setting than on low but my computer should suppport it even on fully maxed out settings. Sometimes when it crashes i log back in and it crashes FUCKING INSTANTLY! it is especially annoying when i have to restart my pc 3 times in a row because it shows no connection. Also it downloads the game every time i launch the browser. I expect that Windows8 does not fully support Unity. The error i get is that something violates the access of d3dx.dll
And i tried visiting that Unity cache thingy. WHY IS IT EMPTY!!!
Maybe if you googled what d3dx.dll, or whatever the actual error was, was,you might get somewhere.
Install this. You've probably got a broken DirectX install and a serious case of expecting others to do all your work for you.
I did google it. noone encounter such an error as mine. ive no idea what it is. i did search for compatibility of Unity Web Player with Windows 8 as well people are saying that it is not listed as a Windows 8 supported software but it does work for a lot of people. i did search the code of the error and nothing :S

If you think its DirectX why is it not writing anything inside the Unity Web Player Cache and redownloads the whole game every time i launch rust?
and the link you gave me from MS website.. my PC thinks its a malicious software :V

Use Firefox. Chrome seems to be doing that right now. That has nothing to do with DirectX.
and the link you gave me from MS website.. my PC thinks its a malicious software :V

...are you fucking kidding me...
First of all, it doesn't say it's malicious software, it says it's incompatible with Windows 8. And if that's not all,
[t]http://i.imgur.com/FJaZlca.png[/t]
How did you miss that and go an entire page lower to this?

Firefox has the same error. and no i did not read any of it... i just clicked download.
I've installed the first thingy i downloaded. it requested several downloads and only one of them was successful. Hopefully that will help.

Thanks for your help elixwhitetail. you got some anger issues though :S
nope never mind that shit still fucks up drivers. i might switch to windows 7 at some point
I don't think you can really expect to resolve the issue if you don't read anything and just click on whatever looks best. And that's not a very good habit to have for testing, either.

Thats the error i get when running rust on firefox. Any ideas what it is?
Another thing you should look for is your CPU. Try looking for how much you're using and decrease it by closing down unnecessary apps.
My CPU should be able to run it on ultra, its i5. and everything that is on my pc is steam and teamspeak.
Thats the error i get when running rust on firefox. Any ideas what it is?
No idea, because you took a fucking screenshot instead of copy-pasting the error message, meaning like 95% of the information the error is providing is missing. Common sense, man.
Uninstall Unity, then reboot, reinstall Unity, try Rust. Also, disable any strange extensions in Firefox that would be doing unusual things, like adblockers or things like NoScript, if you have them. You don't need to remove them completely, but disable them.
Why do you keep calling everything a driver? Jesus Christ.... my head hurts after reading all of this.
Why do you keep calling everything a driver? Jesus Christ.... my head hurts after reading all of this.
Because the only error message that pops up on my screen before pc goes off is that NVIDIA kernel bullshit crashed and successfully recovered. I tried disabling everything and it still does it.
Quick googling gave me this result:
The scene obligatorely stores a huge amount of the same gameObject around, and thus the Web Player crashes due to allocating too much geometry memory into it.
Not sure if it's the same for Rust but imo it looks like your memory is fucked up. Have you done the memory diagnose? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer
Uninstall any apps you're not using, maybe that will help. I do weekly maintenance on my computer and it's still performing like when I first got it.
Samat, it seems your graphics drivers are fucked, but until you learn how to follow instructions and provide enough information to help, I don't see that changing.
Alright. I have reinstalled drivers, my PC is in a good shape, i reinstalled driver, tried previous versions and stuff, reinstalled Unity, tried different browser, disabled all possible addons and applications, i dont have any crap installed on my PC except for Steam and some other software im using.
When i tried resolving it i was told to go to the Unity Web Played Cache and empty it. When i went there i had nothing in it, for some reason it does not store anything in it. I will copy and paste the whole error log next time i get to see it, I see it rarely because my PC goes black when crash happens and i have to restart it. When it is a small crash, i get the error that i screenshoted.
If you tell me what kind of information you need i will try to provide it to you.
