• Inventory changes?

I feel like it is a problem that people can carry so many weapons on them at any given time so i've come up with two different options to address this. Option 1: Items of different sizes take up different amounts of space in your inventory. Things like logs, pickaxes and especially guns take up two inventory slots. Option 2: Guns can only be carried through weapon holsters. For example in order to carry a long gun (rifles, shotguns, etc.) you need a long gun holster. Same goes for pistols. This could maybe be upgraded through crafting to allow you to carry two long guns and two pistols. This would make the game feel more realistic and have a more survivalist feel because you now need to manage your inventory and adds a sense of skill since players who manage their inventory better will be more likely to succeed. Tell me what you think!

I like Option 1 a lot but like I said Option 2 could get annoying.
I like Option 1 a lot but like I said Option 2 could get annoying.
Alright thanks for the feedback, do you think this should go for all items? so the bigger the item is in real life the more inventory slots it can potentially take up
Alright thanks for the feedback, do you think this should go for all items? so the bigger the item is in real life the more inventory slots it can potentially take up
I think that if you have a gun you should have a primary slot that is not in your backpack and you can hold forever but you would not be able to switch to a hatchet or whatever unless you have space in your backpack. And yes the bigger the item the more space it should take

That sounds pretty good.

I like options 1 but not option 2. Maybe a gun takes up 3 slots and pikaxe/logs 1 and etc...
Unfortunately not :/
Welp, well be able to buy it in september so you will get to play soon! :downs:

The problem with option 2 is that it makes 90% of the looting you're doing pointless. Especially when you are looking or guns in crates.

I would personally like option 2; if we were able to make "backpacks" or similar to increase the size of our inventories. Also, bigger stacks could take more room? a stack of 50 wood takes 1 space, but 250 takes 2x2?

(its pretty balanced, except for a small number of items ) Option 2: if you mean equip guns on hot-keys then yea sounds like a good idea but if you mean carry on you then there will only be one problem, how do you carry the guns you loot? if we expand the equipment tab to equip the weapons same as armor and just hot key from there then it could work well. maybe even a tool section for pickaxes, hatchets and so on could save inventory slots if you can have them on your character like a tool-belt or something like that..

Maybe on the hot bar you could have two slots for your primary and secondary weapons. Other than that you can not have guns on the hot bar. Sounds good?
