Hi, I've all my server files downloaded locally from fps, and I'll try add some mod so I want know how can I restore the data in case I don't like the mod or if it loses all data (saves like buildings). at \save\myserverdata\userdata\ there are several folders, do i need to upload all of them? how can i figure out which one is the most recent? thanks
whos you gsp? usually, you have to upload the whole backup .. that means .. the world will be a .sav file, that is a -+ 1mb ( a bit bigger if your server is high populated ) The small files ( a bunch of them usually some ..bin files are player files... so .. in other words.. If you want to put it back as it was, with all the players keeping all their blueprints and buildings and items... you need to make a backup of all content, and upload all again to the server to put it back.. If you wanna keep the players blueprints but get rid of all buildings and loot, don't upload the .sav file .. if you wanna keep the world with buildings, but wipe all the players, don't upload the small .bin files Prob. a little bit different from gsp to gsp .. but all in all more or less the same way!! fto or direcvt in control panel!!! [editline]8th January 2014[/editline] ohh .. userdata is usually ALL .. as there's one per player!! They get overwritten so those you have, is always the latest ones ( atleast if you have autosave and restart every day on your server )

Simply put, if you want to backup the whole save, just copy the entire save folder. That will save players and their inventories and blueprints AND will save the maps with all of its buildings. If you only want to save the player information, then just copy the userdata folder that is inside of save/myserverdata/. If you only want to save the map and its buildings, then just copy the rust_island*.sav files in save/myserverdata/. With most server hosts you can FTP or otherwise download files from the server to your computer at home, usually you can upload files as well. If you want to restore from an old save just upload your backup and overwrite anything that is already there. I know that Multiplay does not allow FTP access, so this may not be possible if you have a server with them.
ty! I've a server at fps, so I already downloaded files for backup using FTP, just need to upload them again in case something goes wrong. Really appreciate your help.
