Rust new building materials?

What would those materials really add to the gameplay other than looks and having different properties (durability, etc.)?

a good simple thing to add could be a "window" wall that you can look through and shoot through but not jump through like a hole with wooden plank in the middle.

For this, people often use doors for makeshift shutters.

You mean they are bugged and you can noclip through them our that you can go through the hole to get to the inside ? I didnt played for some time so i donut know how things do now

You can just crouch to go through them. It would be a good idea to have a window with a plank going down the middle like Cinnabon said

Well thats the reason why u close it with doors and build it on second floor

I think the point is to have a spot to look out from perhaps to defend without the risk of someone coming inside.
Think of having a glass window or a jailhouse style window on a house in real life vs having a hole in the wall with a big shutter. You can't see out unless you open the shutter and when you do anyone can jump in (or build up to and jump in).

Problem with that, they make a couple of stairs, and skip about 10 of your metal doors. -.-

very good thought because everyone builds ramps and climbs in the windows unless they have a door on it. it could be a new wall panel with a window built in or a separate item that you add on to the window that could be opened or closed on demand. and durability upgrade would be nice as well.
