Fellow Rusters, Fed up with public servers? Tired of Community Servers with annoying Admins who destroy the Rustic "feel" of the game? Welcome to the Old West PvP. We strive to make the Rust experience fun, exciting, and gritty like it should be. We see Rust as a mix of Mad Max and the Wild West, with plenty of chances to run into trouble OR stumble across huge treasures. We've got players who prefer to stick to their own, and may not be too shy about raiding you when you're not home. We've got the nice type who gather and build, and new folk are always welcome as well. If you log when the admin isn't around, good luck to ya. He tends to have a job and whatnot, but if he's on you're sure to get an extra airdrop or two as a welcoming gift. I'm Daniel, currently the only active admin on this Magma/Oxide powered server. I've been playing Rust for months now and logged hundreds of hours on various servers. I know what I want out of a server and couldn't seem to find it. So, I made my own. ==================== Old West PvP is GROWING!! ==================== Tonight was eventful to say the least. Much smack was talked in chat, while many players appeared to be playing in teams. Bases were born. Bases were destroyed. We peaked at a population of 12 players and now have over 20 total playing on the map. To cap off an excellent night of PvP'ing, raiding, getting raided, gathering, building, and aidropping, some of us headed to The Sickest Lads "Battle Arena" for a final battle. A final battle which ended up going on for 2 hours, with "The Sickest Lad" taking 1st place victory. ========= RAID ALERT ========= Several bases have been raided, some fully, including a couple of Admin bases. Make sure to put as many metal doors between potential raiders and your loot. One raider has a "signature" -- here you can see Three Trees Lodge, post-raid, loaded with campfires stolen from an Admin area. The campfires led to another raided base. At least 250 had been placed. They have since been removed. If I find a raided building, I fill it back up with some things and move along. If a wall is blown out, I replace it. Don't be discouraged if you've been killed in your sleep. There's a good chance I've come by and helped out a bit. Returning to your base may be a good idea until you get back on your feet. Most raiders raid and then move on. Good luck!

I have the Rust++ Mod installed, so among other things like the ability to list a chat /history or /players list (or /starter for a sleeping bag & hatchet), the Admin has the ability to remove foundations and pillars. The base pictured above is known as "Bridge Base." It was built as a large rectangle initially, then the supporting pillars and foundations in the center were removed via a Rust++ Admin command called "instako." This allows for free travel underneath the base and creates an iconic shape new players can use to help orient themselves.

Hey everyone so i was playing this server and i came across a large wood storage box and when i checked it i found my self some building suplies and now i have my own metal base. makes the game a lil easier when the admins do this sort of stuff and i also climed an obstical course(which was so much fun)and found my self some items to defend my self from others. All i can say is this server is one of the better ones i have played on in a while keep it up daniel and more ppl will see this server and hopefully coma and have fun like i am thanks for taking the times to read this. As far as I know, ALL bases are raidable! :) Even those builders who claim to have completed an "un-raidable" or "iraidable" base have been proven wrong! I've had some folks tell me we have too many "large structures" on our server. This, according to them, is adding to lag and forcing them to play elsewhere. I've destroyed some old, abandoned towers but there's only so much I can do with an Uber Bow and InstaKO. It takes me a significant amount of time to fully remove one large structure. I've also restarted the server, which seems to have helped. So, the question is: ==================================== DO WE REALLY NEED TO WIPE OLD WEST PvP?? ==================================== Since this is a community, I want to pose this question before implementing an action which could really bum people out.
